Summer Camps for Supports Program Clients

Camp applications have begun to be sent out to our families. Please make sure you contact your Support Coordinator today if you are interested in your family member attending Summer Camp.
Camp will be taken out of the Supports budget.
On all applications be sure to fill out your Support Coordinator's name and number so that camp can contact them for payment information.

The expo is a great opportunity to explore products and services for people with disabilities, to attend informational workshops, and to enjoy entertainment and events. For more information please speak with your SC or go to

Personal Preference Program (PPP)
|

PPP Offers an alternate way for individuals to receive their Medicaid Personal Care Assistant (PCA) services.
PPP allows consumers to:
- Choose the services they need and want
- Hire anyone they want: relatives, friends, neighbors
- Design a service plan to meet their schedule
- Buy equipment, devices, make home modifications
- Exercise greater control, flexibility and choice over their personal care

Behavioral Supports:
Individual and/or group counseling, behavioral interventions, diagnostic evaluations or consultations related to the individual’s developmental disability and necessary for the individual to acquire or maintain appropriate interactions with others. Intervention modalities must relate to an identified challenging behavioral need of the individual. Specific criteria for remediation of the behavior shall be established. The provider(s) shall be identified in the Service Plan and shall have the minimum qualification level necessary to achieve the specific criteria for remediation. Behavioral Supports includes a complete assessment of the challenging behavior(s), development of a structured behavioral modification plan, implementation of the plan, ongoing training and supervision of caregivers and behavioral aides, and periodic reassessment of the plan.
Behavioral Supports Activities Include:
- Behavioral assessment
- Development of behavior support plan
- Implementation of plan
- Training and supervision of caregivers
- Periodic reassessment of behavioral plan
- Monitoring of plan
CARES: Crisis Assessment Response & Enhanced Services
Cares provides crisis response and stabilization services for a period of up to 120 days to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. If you feel your family member are in need of behavioral services and need professional staff to assist please reach out to your Support Coordinator.

Transition from Supports to Community Care Program (CCP)
|

Criteria to transition from Supports to CCP (formerly known as CCW):
If the individuals level of care has changed where they are needing more assistance, both parents are 55 or older, if the individual lives with a caregiver who is providing care voluntarily without pay

Sheila DeVries has been employed with Spectrum Care Management and Counseling, LLC since May 1, 2013 and has been providing Support Coordination since its inception in the summer of that same year! Sheila received her Bachelors in Social Work from Ramapo College and will be celebrating 26 years of social working within New Jersey. Throughout these years, Sheila has worn many hats, which have included case management for individuals with developmental disabilities, homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and vocational rehabilitation. She has received her Certification through the NJ Board of Social Work Examiners and has been accredited as a Certified Social Work Case Manager. Additionally, Sheila is a Certified Vocational Counselor. Sheila sits on the Board of the New Jersey Statewide Independent Living Counsel and has assisted with the development of Medicaid Waiver transitions and development. By her colleagues, Sheila is best known for “Sheila-isms”. Some popular ones are: “Consistency Across the Board”, “Document, Document, Document”, and the all-time favorite, “Dummy-Proof It” !
Outside of work, Sheila enjoys spending time with her 10 year old son, Caleb and her pets Jedi, Boo, Little Boo, Marchello, and Mamacita. She loves to travel- St Martin, Antigua, Barbados, Paris, and Norway have been her all time favorite places to visit. Music, the beach, sports, laughing and friends are hobbies that Sheila is routinely engaged in. If Sheila had to choose a second career, it would be Party Planning. Friends describe Sheila as being real, giving, funny, having a huge heart and a little bit of sarcastic humor, which Sheila calls “having personality”!
