A Note From Pastor Linda

From Matthew 6:  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.  ~Jesus

Dear Friends~

On Sunday we were challenged to name our WHY HOSANNA in one word, write it on a pink heart and place it in the comment section of the GOFUNDHOSANNA Storyboard.   THANKS- to everyone who participated!   This week, we will continue to be challenged about WHY HOSANNA- while considering our part in the story.

Have you received your GOFUNDHOSANNA mailing? Being intentional about giving makes a difference to our shared life and story.     Giving to the General Fund provides for the day to day expenses of the church and our shared ministry story- things like worship, faith formation, Sunshine preschool support- along with building costs such as lights, heating, snowplowing, mortgage payment- and more.   But there are always those "unexpected" and planned for costs to keep a household running smoothly.   Below is a message from the Capital Projects Account (CPA) Committee- as it relates to your Giving Plan Card- a way for you to STRETCH in your giving while supporting Hosanna's story:

All who worship at Hosanna are blessed with a wonderful building that helps us-the church-fulfill our mission and ministry. We gather to worship, preschoolers learn and grow, youth come together for Connect-360, we pack meals for Feed My Starving Children, the list goes on. Indeed, Hosanna's building constitutes an important resource and
mission post for us.  It's important for us to be intentional with our facility stewardship.

What is Facility Stewardship?
Facility Stewardship is about taking care of what we have been given -
of all that's entrusted to us.

What does entrusted mean?
It means that when something (or someone) is entrusted to me, I'm responsible for it.
It's my duty to watch over it, and to care for it.

Thoughtful stewardship of our building requires preparation and planning. Funds need to be available to replace building components as needs arise so that Hosanna's story is not disrupted.   Consider this, churches spend millions of dollars in the construction and renovation of their buildings- we must remember the costs in caring for these resources.

In November, the Capital Projects Committee and the Facilities Team are identifying immediate needs, and estimate that a minimum of $40,000 is needed during 2018/2019 to meet current capital needs- this in addition to funds already received.   Possible projects include restoration of the north wall and paving of the parking lots.

As you prayerfully consider your planned giving for next year, please consider broadening your commitment to Hosanna to include either a pledge or a one-time gift to the Capital Projects Account.

Return your GOFUNDHOSANNA Giving Plan Card to Hosanna by December 9 th.   Watch the GODFUNDME Storyboard for updates in our GOAL to fully fund our story today and into the future!
