Mindful Zoo Mindful You is a joint (Ad)venture between the Akron Zoo and Heart to Heart Communications that integrates leadership, mindfulness, and all the zoo has to offer into a unique one-day learning experience. This highly interactive program will help leaders:
Mindful Leaders exhibit high levels of self awareness and intentionality in their actions. Research indicates that a more mindful presence (also called centeredness) is the optimal strategy to engage employees, create better connections, and improve relationships. Research also suggest that there’s a direct correlation between leaders’ presence and the well-being and performance of their people.
Facilitators:
John Ropar, PhD, former director, John Carroll University Counseling Center and currently in private practice has worked with hundreds of individuals and presented numerous programs and workshops on mindfulness that enables individuals to incorporate mindful practices into everyday life.
Autumn Russell, Director of Education at the Akron Zoo has worked to educate audiences of all ages on science and the natural world. Working in both formal and informal settings her goal has been to make connections between animals and people.
Christine Williams, PhD, has worked extensively with leaders throughout the United States and has incorporated mindful practices and techniques into her work for over thirty years. She is currently Director of Consultative Services for Heart to Heart Communications.
