New to First UU?  Register for one of our upcoming New UU Orientation Sessions

Upcoming Service
Sunday, February 24 at
9 and 11 a.m.

Worship Leader:
Rev. Andre Mol

Worship Associate:
Kristin Kany

"Welcoming Spirit"
The Unitarian Universalist Association began the Welcoming Congregation program in 1989 to help congregations to create inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ identified individuals. In the past thirty years over 75% of UU congregations have participated in that program including First UU. During this service we will celebrate the gifts we bring as LBGTQ+ individuals into our congregation. We'll also explore ways we can continue to deepen our welcoming, especially in light of a  recent report from TRUUsT  which reveals UU congregations have more work to do to create the trusted safe spaces for trans UUs as promised by the Welcoming Congregation program.

This service will be lead by Rev. Andre Mol, Developmental Assistant Minister for Pastoral Care and Membership, with contributions from members of our LGBTQIA Chalice Circle group.  During the service we will also welcome new members who have joined the congregation in the last four months.

Join Us for Worship This Sunday!
Sunday, February 17 at 9 and 11 a.m. chalice by river

Worship Leaders:
The Healthy Congregation Team and
Rev. Susan Milnor

Worship Associate:  Judy Brook

From the very beginning ours has been a covenantal faith more than a creedal one.  On this Sunday, when we honor the covenants of our congregation, we will reflect on why living in covenant is so important when you live without doctrine in a "free faith."  Can we thrive in a "circle of trust"?

On Sunday, February 17 we will gather in the Community Room between the services to fill gallon-sized bags with small toiletries and other items that might bring comfort to those in need.

This multi-generational service project is open to the whole congregation, not just families with children in Family Ministry classes. 8th Grade OWL Facilitators Needed
Erika Reif, Family Ministry Assistant

Our 8th Grade OWL program has been a great success this year, thanks to the dedication of our volunteer facilitators. We need more trained individuals to continue to offer this valuable service to our community!

Here is an opportunity to make a real difference, by helping us provide comprehensive sexuality education, not just to the youth of our congregation, but to some of their classmates as well.

Consider becoming a trained 7-9th Grade OWL Facilitator, by attending a weekend training in Auburndale, Massachusetts on May 3-5. (Please note, OWL Facilitators are required to be 25 years of age or older.) FUUSB will cover the fees, which include room and board, for incoming members of our OWL team.

Spots fill up fast, so contact Andrea at
[email protected] or 862-5630 X 28, as soon as possible for more information about our OWL program. More information on the facilitator training can be found here.
