Service Stories: Adopt-a-Highway with Theta Phi Alpha
Special thanks to Abra Gold for providing these photos.
Decked out in orange safety gear and protective gloves, Theta Phi Alpha dedicated a few hours to a cause they care about: keeping Pennsylvania beautiful. Despite rain and cloudy skies, these volunteers worked together to pick up trash at Exit 35 on Depot Road. Abra Gold, Theta Phi Alpha Philanthropy Chair, said " The roads around Erie are polluted with trash. We organized a service event to help clean up, just a little bit, because if everyone puts in just a little bit of effort it can make a big difference."
When asked what was memorable about the service experience, o ne member said, "K nowing that even a small group of people can make a difference, and if we get more people to volunteer our impact could be even greater."

Theta Phi Alpha will be volunteering again in the spring at the same location.
There are tons of opportunities to volunteer in the coming month. Grab a friend, go with your club or student organization, or take time for yourself and volunteer with a cause you care about.
