Sonoma Strong Healing Fair September 29th
The Santa Rosa Holistic Chamber of Commerce will present the second annual Sonoma Strong Healing Fair on September 29th at the Santa Rosa Veterans Building. Our community is invited to experience multiple modalities/treatments offered by doctors and practitioners; massage, acupuncture, chiropractic, energy healing, life coaching and much more. There will also be free food/drinks, speakers, sponsor and vendor areas, a kid's area, music, a silent auction and raffles. Bring your family and friends for a day of releasing, learning and enjoyment.
The FREE healing fair is open to everyone.

As we approach the one-year anniversary of the wildfires, we invite you to surround yourself with artistic expression focused on community well-being and connections. This all-ages event will feature art activities, musical performances, guided hikes, and food. Free. Reflect on the past year while witnessing the recovering landscape of  Shiloh Ranch Regional Park .

County to Observe One Year Anniversary of Wildfires October 8th
County, City to Observe One Year Anniversary of Wildfires

SANTA ROSA, CA  – The County of Sonoma and City of Santa Rosa will hold a ceremony on October 8, 2018 in observance of the one year anniversary of the Sonoma Complex fires. The ceremony will include a memorial bell ringing to remember those who lost their lives in the fires and provide an opportunity for community grieving, healing and reflection through public chalk art expression. The chalk art will continue on October 9th.

The community is invited to the ceremony which will be held in downtown Santa Rosa at Courthouse Square. Schedule is as follows:

Title of Announcement: Transitional Aged Youth Counselor 
Salary:  $16-$20 per hr. DOE 
Position Summary: Social Advocates for Youth (SAY) is a non-profit agency serving at-risk youth and their families in Sonoma County. We have an immediate opening for a Transitional Aged Youth Advocate in Santa Rosa. Under the direct supervision of the Program Director of Housing Services at SAY, the Youth Advocate is responsible for providing supportive case management services to transitional aged youth (TAY) at the SAY housing or shelter programs. 
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment during all program operations
• Screen and interview applicants for program eligibility 
• Maintain intake and eligibility documentation per program requirement
• Provide comprehensive counseling/case management including job skills training, educational assistance, supportive services, leadership opportunities, and referrals to community resources.
• Develop and implement group activities and/or curriculum
• Complete documentation of services including: Case Notes, Service Plans, Incident Reports, etc.
• Coordinate with community partners to provide services and referrals.
• Network and liaise with landlords and neighbors in the community to provide excellent customer service and develop housing opportunities for youth.
• Provide Supportive Services to facilitate program participant lease signing and through tenancy to establish being a good renter. 
• Complete all required data entry into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
• Support the Program Manager in meeting contract requirements
• Be a part of the On-Call Support Team
• Other duties as assigned
Title of Announcement: Bilingual Assessment Clinician 
Salary: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
Position Summary: Part-time. Under the direct supervision of the Counseling Program Managers, the Bilingual Assessment Clinician will work collaboratively within the organization to provide assessment services to identified clients across multiple programs and services. We provide excellent clinical supervision to licensure track clinicians.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Provide intake, screening and assessment services to English and Spanish speaking youth and families
2. Create and maintain all necessary records
3. Assist families by actively referring them to appropriate services 
4. Respond in a positive and respectful manner to diversity among the agency's service population and staff 
5. Engage clients who may not want to receive services
6. Confer and cooperate with agencies such as police, sheriff, probation, social services, mental health, the 
courts, youth services and other organizations
7. Actively participate as part of the SAY Counseling Department Team
8. Follow all laws regarding confidentiality, mandated reporting, and HIPAA 
9. Perform other related duties as assigned
Title of Announcement: Grants Writer Department: Development
Position Summary: Full-time. T he Grant Writer will be part of a dynamic fundraising team that works collaboratively to raise essential funds for the Redwood Empire Food Bank's (REFB) ongoing operations and strategic programs. The position is responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations, and will persuasively communicate the REFB's mission and programs to potential funders. The Grant Writer takes the lead on ensuring the REFB's robust grant program is effective, growing and meeting budget goals. In the current fiscal year, the REFB is on track to submit over 50 proposals. 
The Grant Writer will work closely with our development team, including one other full-time Grant Writer, to ensure the grant process is streamlined and effective. The Grant Writer will have a portfolio of grantors that they steward from the start of the application process through reporting, including stewardship.

Salary: $25 per hour
Position Summary: Part-time. Humanidad is a Marriage Family Therapist training program and Educational Consultation agency in Santa Rosa. We work with much of the Latinx community throughout Sonoma County. In 2016 we were awarded a California Department of Public Health Disparity Act Grant and are preparing to incorporate their requirements into our day to day business. We work together in the style of mentorship and much of what we do is collaborative. If you are interested in being a part of a rich and creative learning environment, have a passion for cultural equity and proficiency, and are happy to work independently as well as a part of a team-we want to hear from you!
We are looking for a Financial Manager to help with financial business and office needs of HTES. Past experience working with a non-profit is a must.

Position Summary: Part-time. Humanidad is a Marriage Family Therapist training program and Educational Consultation agency in Santa Rosa. We are looking for a bilingual self- initiated and motivated person to run the daily office needs and to work with the rest of the HTES team in delivering the requisites of the grant project. 
Responsibilities:
• Serving as primary office contact for the agency (phone/email/in-person)
• Taking care of the in-office scheduling using google calendar system
• Creating, updating, & translating documents, flyers, press releases, etc.
• In charge of basic office upkeep, and supply re-stocking
• Developing & increasing social media presence
• Handling note-taking duties for meetings
• Supervising volunteer-led project implementation at local schools (weekly in- person check-in, and daily email/phone communication)
• Developing community outreach opportunities
• Making weekly deposits
• Basic QuickBooks data entry (monthly check-in with accountant)
• Creating a variety of blank client files for therapist/intern use

Title of Announcement: Care Counselor
Salary: $15.50 - $16.50 per hour
Position Summary: The Care Counselor (Service Provider II) works with clients primarily in the field as part of a team supporting client recovery and independence. In this vital role, you will provide daily independent living assistance to clients individually and in groups in a manner that facilitates growth, the assumption of responsibility, and the increased ability to relate effectively with others. This is a part-time (20 - 24 hours) job with hours to be agreed upon with supervisor that may include days and evenings throughout the week. Title of Announcement: Probation Training Manager
Salary: $5,610 - $6,819/Mo.
Position Summary: The Probation Training Manager supports multiple areas of the Probation Department's Administration Division including overseeing the Department's training program, training contract administration, and the Division's budget.
This position serves as the Department's liaison with the State of California to ensure compliance with mandated training standards for over 200 sworn officers. To manage the annual training plan, the Probation Training Manager works closely with supervisors and managers to develop training plans to meet the needs of each division, administers the plans through internal and external trainers, supports the effective implementation of evidence-based practices through the execution of the annual training plan, and guides the Department's training committee.
The Probation Training Manager also prepares and monitors the Administrative Division's budget and state and locally-mandated fiscal reports, develops and manages multiple vendor and agency service agreements, and represents the Department in local and state-wide forums.
Title of Announcement: Community Dental Health Worker
Position Summary: The Community Dental Health Worker (CDHW) achieves a set of dental health competencies and serves as a linguistically and culturally competent member of the dental team. Their duties include: assist with Caries Risk Assessment completion, apply topical fluoride, use motivational interviewing to identify behavior change plans, provide patient and parent health education, instruct on use of mobile dental applications, ensure dental case management, track completion of treatment and behavior plans, refer for specialty care, inform parents of their dental insurance benefits, and provide resources for social and other services.

  • Provide culturally appropriate health education and information to caregivers of Medi-Cal enrolled children age 6 and under:

Title of Announcement: Building Plans Examiner I, II, & Sr.
Salary: $4,515 - $6,285/Mo.
Position Summary: Working independently and under general supervision, Building Plans Examiner II's check construction documents and complex plans for compliance with building codes, ordinances, and regulations. Typical compliance checks include fire safe and state accessibility standards as well as the review of geotechnical and soils reports for compliance with state building standards. Building Plans Examiners also review and maintain forms, files, and other necessary records; enter and retrieve data from electronic data processing systems; and work with the public to receive incoming applications, answer general code questions, calculate fees, and explain procedures.
