"I've always prided myself on my listening skills, but the knowledge I've gained has taken that to a whole new level and changed me for the better." - Helpline volunteer

With dedication of volunteers, Samaritans serves more people

This group of new volunteers started their year by completing training to begin answering calls and texts to our Helpline. Welcome to the Samaritans family!

After training, many find that this experience becomes an important part of their life. While they may not share any particular prior experience, our volunteers share a deep respect for human life and a desire to support those in pain. Few things can be as rewarding as knowing that you were there when someone needed you most.

Remembering our loved ones at the Annual Memorial
We want to extend our gratitude to all who joined us at our Annual Memorial event on January 27.  Whether you shared a letter, song, or poem, or listened to the stories shared by other suicide loss survivors, we hope you found some comfort at the event. It was a beautiful day of memories; the lasting influence our loved ones have on our lives was evident.  If you are a loss survivor who was not able to make it to the Annual Memorial but would like support from our Grief Support Services, please know we are always here for you.
Meet the Samaritans 2019 Boston Marathon team (pt. 2)
The Samaritans 2019 Boston Marathon team  has raised more than $122,000 toward our team goal of $160,000 with 60 days to go! The dedicated runners on this team are loss survivors, volunteers, and folks who have benefited from our programs. Each month leading up to the big day, we'll be highlighting members of our outstanding team. This month, meet Callahan and Joy!
