New York City's Nightlife Economy

ESI in partnership with North Highland and Urbane Development, completed the first ever economic impact study on the City of New York's nightlife economy for the Mayor's Office of Media and entertainment. The report details the direct impact of NYC's nightlife economy and historic trends across subsectors and geographies, the total economic impact of NYC's nightlife economy, and more.

USDOT INFRA Grants

The USDOT Build America Bureau is accepting applications for the second round of the Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) Grant Program, due March 4, 2019. ESI can help with your benefit-cost analysis as well as the complete application.

Richard Voith was featured on KYW Newsradio, speaking about traffic and congestion in the Philadelphia area, as well as how the city is represented in comparison to other regions.

Peter Angelides moderated the panel discussion, "Disrupt Real Estate with Technology: A New Era Demands New Thinking," an Urban Land Institute Philadelphia presentation at the University of Delaware STAR Campus in Newark, DE on February 6.

Stephen Mullin testified at New Jersey's State Senate meeting on the New Jersey Grow Program on February 11. He also spoke at the Bond Club of Philadelphia's Annual Meeting on February 12 on "Observations from a Philadelphia Economy Watcher".

Robin Winston has been continuously providing counsel to the NBC, FOX and CBS affiliates in Indianapolis as an on-air political analyst. Winston provides national, state and local perspective to activities in government, business and politics.

Joel Naroff, a KYW Radio business commentator, mentioned ESI's Philadelphia Housing Index in his most recent radio airing.

Terry Gillen will be a panelist at a Pay For Success conference at Columbia University's Bernstein Center for Leadership and Ethics on February 21.

Richard Miller has joined Tesla as an Energy Advisor based in Cherry Hill, NJ.

His new role with Tesla is working with clients who want to convert their typical Grid energy system to new solar energy for their homes and businesses.

Susan Baltake has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Haddonfield Outdoor Sculpture Trust, a 501(c)3 bringing accessible outdoor art to the Borough of Haddonfield, NJ. This public/private outdoor art initiative has populated downtown Haddonfield with more than 20 rotational, traditional and abstract outdoor sculptures since 2015.

Bernard Markstein estimated state construction unemployment rates for the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) for December, which was also reprinted.

ESI ThoughtLab is currently in the midst of forming a coalition of sponsor and research partners to expand on 2018's ground-breaking Smarter Cities 2025 study. The follow-up project, Building a Hyperconnected City will provide urban and business leaders with the definitive playbook for creating digitally-enabled and seamlessly interlinked urban ecosystems.
