Officers and Directors

At our annual meeting at the Outdoor Retailer Snow Show, the NSSRA Board elected three Officers and four new members to serve on the Board of Directors.

Teddy Schiavoni, Summit Ski & Snowboard, Framingham, MA, and Lori Underwood, Peter Glenn Ski & Sports, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, were re-elected Chairman and Vice Chair, respectively. Tracy Gibbons, Sturtevant's, Bellevue, WA, was elected Secretary-Treasurer. The officers serve two-year terms.

The Board elected the following retailers to serve three-year terms: Jon Morrill, Kittery Trading Post, Kittery, ME; Jenna Pate, Summit Sports/Skis.com, Bloomfield Hills, MI; Robb Shepherd, Shepherd & Schaller, Wausau, WI; and Roger Sobotka, Paoli Pro Shop, Paoli, IN.

The new Directors join these Board members whose terms continue: Tom Fuerst, Pedigree Ski Shop, White Plains, NY; Tom Gately, Snowsports Merchandising Corp., Springfield, MA; Gordon Geiger, Geiger's Ski & Sport Haus, Chagrin Falls, OH; and Dave Nacke, Sports Specialists, Ltd., Golden, CO.

At the Association's annual Member Meeting, the Board recognized President Larry Weindruch, who is retiring March 1.

Don't Miss the February 22 Deadline for Hall of Fame Nominations

The Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame has honored pioneers and innovators in the sports, fitness and recreation industry for more than 60 years. Among those in the snow sports industry who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame are manufacturers Christian Lund, Howard Head, and Jake Burton Carpenter and retailers Bill Jackson and Norbert Olberz.

Congratulations to Bob Olson, SIA Spirit Award Winner

NSSRA member and former Director Bob Olson, Viking Ski Shop, Chicago, was honored at the recent Outdoor Retailer Snow Show as the Shop of the Year, part of the SIA Spirit Awards. Also honored were Rep of the Year: Dave Graves, KB Sales; Rep Association of the Year: Cami Garrison, WWSRA; and SIA Member of the Year: Jay Badgley, Phunkshun Wear.
