Re-enrollment Process
At York Catholic, we are grateful for your partnership with us in the education of your children who bless our community every day with their talents. Please read the following information thoroughly as it contains important information regarding course selection, re-enrollment, and tuition assistance for the 2019-2020 school year.

Course Selection
Senior High students should be talking with their subject level teachers regarding appropriate course selection for 2019-2020. Students in grades 9 through 11 now have access to the online course selection portal in Vision. This will remain open until February 22. During this time, students should select their courses for next school year. After completing the process online, students are instructed to print the course selection sheet and have each of their teachers sign next to the desired subject courses. A parent signature is required as well. These forms will be due February 22, 2019.

Parents, please take the time to review our course catalog for next school year. We are excited to be offering three new courses: Yearbook for grades 11-12, Music Technology for grades 9-12, and Computer Science Discoveries for grades 9-10.

Re-enrollment
In an effort to prepare for the budget and enrollment numbers for next year, our re-enrollment process is aligned with our course selection. Tuition figures for next year will be published in early April after budget approval by the School Board. In order to budget appropriately, we are asking families to re-enroll now. The early re-enrollment fee is $150.00. After February 22, 2019, the re-enrollment fee will increase to $200.00, with an increase to $250.00 after April 5, 2019. As in the past, $150.00 of the re-enrollment fee will be applied to your child's 2019-2020 tuition.

Tuition Assistance
If you plan to apply for assistance, please be sure to do so no later than April 15, 2019. If you require assistance in completing this application, you may make an appointment with our Business Office Manager, Ms. Heather Dougherty, March 19 or March 20,  at  [email protected]  or 717-846-8871 x215.

Green & Gold Gala
You are cordially invited to York Catholic's Green & Gold Gala, a festive evening of cocktails, dining, silent and live auctions, entertainment, and fun on Saturday, April 6, from 6-10 PM at the Country Club of York.

Please join us as we celebrate our YC pride and successes throughout the year.  All proceeds will benefit our York Catholic Fund, enabling us to invest in tuition assistance for those in need, a vibrant curriculum, technology upgrades, the arts and athletics, resources for our valued teachers, and the beautification and safety of our school.

Our planning committee is actively seeking donations for our live and silent auctions.  If you can contribute a gift certificate to a local restaurant or business, tickets to a sporting/cultural event, local attraction or getaway, it will truly help our efforts and make a difference in the lives of our students.  All donors will receive a receipt for tax purposes and grateful acknowledgement at the Green & Gold Gala.

PSAT 10
Any interested sophomore is invited and encouraged to take the PSAT 10 this spring at York Catholic.  The PSAT 10 mirrors the PSAT, and offers a tenth grader the opportunity to preview and practice for the actual PSAT without stress over score reporting.  Scores from the PSAT 10 are not reported and do not impact college applications in any way.  Students benefit from the opportunity to engage with the material and become familiar with the format of the test before taking the PSAT in October of their junior year.   PSAT test scores do count; those scores are referenced to determine Merit Scholars, and free practice tests are available online through College Board.  Features of the PSAT 10 are as follows:
  • The PSAT 10 is a three-hour exam, featuring a math section and a reading/writing section.
  • Each section is worth 760 points for a possible total composite of 1520.
  • The math section targets algebra and advanced math problems.  A spring testing session is optimal as sophomores will be concluding a year of Algebra II.
The test will be offered in the York Catholic library from 8-11 AM on Saturday, April 13.  Any interested sophomore must register by February 15.  Click here for the registration form; they are also available in the main office.  Cost per student is $20.00, and checks can be made out to York Catholic.  Questions may be directed to Kathy Hand at [email protected]
Early Dismissal - Feb 15

We will be dismissing students at 11:30 AM tomorrow, Friday, February 15, so that teachers may attend an important In-service. School districts will run their pick-up earlier to accommodate our students. There will be no supervision available in the building after 11:30 AM. Any students remaining after dismissal will need to call a parent or guardian for pick-up.
Welcome Wednesday
York Catholic will be open from 10 AM-2 PM on Wednesday, February 20, for families interested in a YC education.  Drop by for a tour with one of our YC Student Ambassadors and meet with our Admissions Director to get questions answered.  For more information, contact Heather Hoffman at  [email protected]  or 717-846-8871 x220.

Catholic Woman's Club Fashion Show
The Catholic Woman's Club 51st Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon, "Jewels of Spring - Wear Your Bling" will be held  Saturday, April 13, from 11:30 AM-3 PM at the Country Club of York. Cost is $35 per person and includes lunch and the show. Guests are welcome. For reservations or questions, contact Beth Brennan at 717-495-0947 or [email protected] .  The RSVP deadline is March 31. Proceeds provide college scholarships for Catholic young ladies in the York deanery.
Inclement Weather
During inclement weather that would cause a school closing or delay of schedule, York Catholic will call/text/email you through our One Call Now Emergency Notification system. Other modes of notification include WGAL TV-8, Fox43, and the YC website. Students from individual school districts are automatically excused if their district closes and does not provide transportation to YCHS. The exceptions to this are Southern and Southeastern. These students follow York Catholic's delay and closing schedule.
