Salvation Army Bell Ringing
Trinity has a long history of partnering with the Salvation Army to help local individuals and families in need. We hope that you will please volunteer again this year to ring the bells. By giving your time to ring the bells outside of local businesses, you will be making it so easy for many shoppers to add their generous support through contributions into the kettles.

The first date we will begin ringing, December 6, is only a couple days away . Volunteers are still needed on the starting date (December 6), as well as December 11 through 14. There are other dates beyond those listed here that still have availability; please visit our page to see the complete list and find a time that works for you.

To volunteer, please fill out the form found at trinitysc.org/bellringers to sign up. For any questions, please contact Julian Walker at julian.walker@att.net .
Men of Trinity Advent Drop-In
The Men of Trinity will be hosting their annual Advent Drop-In on Tuesday, December 10 from 6 - 8 pm at the home of Rox Pollard (2 Heathwood Circle, 29205). The cost to attend is $10/person, and you can register by clicking here to visit the event page ( trinitysc.org/MOTadvent ).

If you have any questions or would like to become involved with the group, please contact Ian Weschler, President of the Men of Trinity, at ipweschler@gmail.com .
Usher Meeting in December
An important meeting for all current ushers will be held at Trinity at 5:45 pm on Wednesday, December 11 (please note the change in date), in the Cathedral. Discussion will include new procedures for ushers. Any individuals (both ladies and gentlemen) who are interested in becoming an usher are also encouraged to attend this meeting, where you will learn more about this important volunteer role at Trinity. If you have any questions, please contact West Summers at jwestsummers3@gmail.com or 803.587.5845.
Bishop Finlay Holiday Reception
The Bishop Finlay Holiday Reception will be Sunday, December 15, 2:00 - 4:00 pm, at the home of Joan Kuhn (3221 Whitehall Rd., Columbia, SC 29204).
We hope ladies will drop by for something warm to sip (coffee or tea) and a cookie or two before going to the Messiah Concert or to other activities.
All are welcome to attend.
Next Safeguarding God's People Training
The next Safeguarding God's People Training will be held on Sunday, December 15, from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm in the Administrative Conference Room. Volunteers in many ministries here at Trinity need to be Safeguarding Trained, and the certification received from each training is good for five years. To register for the training on December 15, please contact Bibs Babson at bbabson@trinitysc.org .

If you have any questions about whether your role at Trinity requires you to participate, or for questions about when your specific training will expire, please contact Bibs for assistance with those questions as well.
Packing of the Backpacks
Please join us Sunday, December 15, at 9:00 am in the Workshop for the traditional packing of the Christmas backpacks for our Sunday morning guests. Donations of soap and deodorant are needed. All donations can be delivered to any of the children and youth formation classrooms, or left at the Welcome Center. The box at the Welcome Center will be clearly labeled so there will not be any confusion with the Advent Giving Tree.

The backpacks will be distributed Sunday, December 22; therefore we need all donations by the deadline of Wednesday December 11. Please bring a breakfast item to share with all those who come to help pack the backpacks on December 15. We hope to see you on December 15! For questions, please contact Bibs Babson at bbabson@trinitysc.org .
(Please note: Adult formation classes will take place as regularly scheduled on December 15).
Advent Giving Tree
Starting with the first Sunday in Advent (December 1), the Advent Giving Tree will be located in the Welcome Center. Each ornament on the tree has requests for items listed on it, and these items will support our ministries at WA Perry Middle School and St. Lawrence Place. If you would like to participate, please take an ornament from the tree and purchase the items listed upon it. Please return the items to the Welcome Center by December 15. No need to wrap the items you purchase; the volunteers who work with the WA Perry ministry at Trinity will deliver all donations received to the school and St. Lawrence Place. If you have any questions, please contact Betty Gregory at bettylgregory@gmail.com .
Pageant Rehearsal
Please save the date for the rehearsal for the Annual Christmas Eve Pageant. All children and youth who would like to take part in the pageant during the Christmas Eve service are encouraged to attend the rehearsal beforehand. The rehearsal will take place on Saturday, December 21 at 10:00 am in the Cathedral, followed by costume distribution in Satterlee Hall. For more information, contact Bibs Babson at bbabson@trinitysc.org.
Fellowship on the Fourth Sunday in Advent
On Sunday, December 22, at 9:00 am in Satterlee Hall, please join us to celebrate the Fourth Sunday in Advent. There will be Christmas carols and stories, a light breakfast of muffins and other goodies, and - most importantly - fellowship! No formation classes will be held for children, youth or adults this day, so please come take advantage of this opportunity to spend time with fellow parishioners, enjoy breakfast, and sing carols. If you have any questions, please contact Bibs Babson at bbabson@trinitysc.org.
Poinsettia Memorials and Honoraria
Poinsettias to decorate the Cathedral at Christmas are $15 each   and may be given in honor or memorial of a loved one, friend, or family member. Poinsettias will be delivered to home-bound members of our parish following the Christmas Day service. The list of memorials and honoraria will be published in the  Tidings  after Christmas.

Complete the form found at trinitysc.org/poinsettias to make your donation. To pay by check, please mail it to: Trinity Cathedral, Attention: Julie Fulmer (1100 Sumter Street, Columbia, SC 29201). Please be sure to note “Poinsettias” in the memo line if paying by check.

For any questions, please contact Joan Danforth at  jayteedan@yahoo.com .
