CVNA and AFP-NEIA co-hosted workshop:  The $73 Billion Ceda r Valley Opportunity on  Tuesday, October 9,  2018;  10:00AM -  1:00PM at the  Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa.

What if your organization had all the money it needed to do all the things it is designed to do for the community? Paraphrasing an old saying, whether you think it is possible or not, you're probably right.  There is a $73 billion opportunity in the Cedar Valley and it is right in front of you. Now is the time to act to help create a sustainable future for your organization. This isn't a fantasy, this is real.

Planned giving focused workshop lead by Rob Hilbert, Iowa Public Television Foundation. Will include roundtable discussions and lunch.  Free for all CVNA/AFP-NEIA members; Non-members $50 payable. Limited space! RSVP  today.

All attendees will receive a great resource of their choice to continue to grow their ability to meet our organizations philanthropic goals.  The value of the resources is over $40! Attendees can select one of the these books:
  • Fundraising track- The Art of Planned Giving:  Understanding Donors and the Culture of Giving, written by Douglas E. White
  • Grant writing track - Non-profit Guidebook Series - Winning Grants Step by Step, written by Toro O'Neal-McElrath.
Please indicate the book of your choice with Holly, so we can order it and deliver it to you at the event.

Special thanks to the former Northeast Iowa Chapter of Leave A Legacy who is providing sponsorship support of this important planned giving training.  We trust that our non-profit partners will always value and seek planned gifts to grow and sustain our missions.

Free Webinar for Nonprofits

The Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa and the R.J. McElroy Trust are co-presenting a FREE webinar for nonprofits:

LISTEN UP! How Feedback Can Accelerate Nonprofit Growth and Impact
Wednesday, Oct. 3 from  1-2pm
The Leighty Community Room of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa ( 3117 Greenhill Circle, Cedar Falls)
Please click here to RSVP for this great event.

A growing chorus of social sector players are advocating for a greater emphasis on "listening"-engaging customers or beneficiaries to better identify areas for improvement in programs or services. Gathering feedback not only provides a valuable stream of insight on program effectiveness, but also gives dignity and respect to constituents. Many feedback tools can be introduced to an organization's existing measurement processes with nominal effort and minimal cost, making it not only the right thing to do, but also smart and feasible to add to your organization's program evaluation operations.

Presented by the Stanford Social Innovation Review, with speakers:
Kathy Reich is the director of Ford Foundation's BUILD initiative. She guides Ford's efforts to implement sector-leading approaches to supporting the vitality and effectiveness of institutions and networks that serve as pillars of broader social movements. Phil Buchanan  is the president of CEP, the Center for Effective Philanthropy. He is a passionate advocate for the importance of philanthropy and the nonprofit sector, and deeply committed to the cause of helping foundations and individual donors to maximize their impact. Dr. Susannah Rose is the scientific director of research in the Office of Patient Experience at Cleveland Clinic. The Office of Patient Experience leads initiatives to improve the patient experience across Cleveland Clinic Health Systems. Christopher Watler is the executive director of Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) New York State, the State's largest workforce program for returning citizens.
