Invite: Girl Scout Cookie Week!

If you have a Girl Scout who is a member of Crown of Glory and is interested in selling cookies here at church, then you are invited to a special event! One table will be shared with any girls who are interested in selling cookies. This is a one-time special opportunity for Girl Scouts in our community.

The available dates and times are:

Saturday, February 16th, 5 p.m. service

Sunday, February 17th, 9 a.m. service or 10:30 a.m. service

If you have any questions or would like to register please contact Tina Rue . Please include the Girl Scout’s name, Troop #, and your 1st and 2nd choice of date to sell. The number of spots available is limited but we will do our best to accommodate all cookie sellers.

Confirmation 6 ^th Grade Girls would like to thank the congregation for their generous support of the Sheridan Story bake sale fundraiser. Thanks to your generosity, $313 was raised to support childhood hunger!

"E-Blast" Name Change!

We're changing the name of our weekly "E-Blast" and we need your help!

If you'd like to participate, please submit your suggestion to the church office by Wednesday, February 27th.

Suggestions will be received and CoG staff will vote on the most creative names and offer the top two for a congregational vote!

"Lunch & Learn"

Attendees at this week’s Adult Education/Lunch & Learn enjoyed a very informative presentation by Officer Julie Janke from the Chaska Police Department.

Officer Janke shared tips and suggestions on ways we can avoid falling victim to online or telephone fraud and scams. She emphasized there will be no slow-down for 2019 in the number of robocalls and scam attempts occurring in our local area.

Thank you to all who attended; watch for an announcement about our March program soon.

Seeking "Meals on Wheels" Volunteer Drivers

Crown of Glory has done meal delivery in coordination with the CAP agency for many years. We are now in need of additional drivers to cover our team members who leave for warmer weather (snowbirds) and who are temporarily unavailable.

The shift comes around every six weeks. During that time, the route is for the noon meal. Drivers pick up the meals at Talheim (next to Auburn Manor) at 10:15 a.m. and are usually finished around 12:15 p.m. Your commitment is one day every six weeks.

Any interested people, please contact Shirley Thalacker at 952-443-4074. She coordinates drivers with the routes.

New Member Orientation and Welcome

For all visitors and guests looking to make Crown of Glory their church home, you are invited for the winter

New Member Dinner and Orientation on Sunday, February 17th from 5 p.m.- 6:30 p.m . in the Sun Hall! We’ll begin the evening with a meal and orientation to Crown of Glory membership will follow!

New Member Welcome Weekend!

Join us for worship as we welcome New Member families on the weekend of February 23rd and 24th during each of our worship services. Families will be introduced and following worship, all will share in fellowship in the Sun Hall!

Soup's On!

Our Lenten 2019 Soup and Sandwich Suppers begin on March 6th !

We’ll have a “Soup of the Week” plus 2-3 "Family Favorites" provided by our members!

Sign-up sheets will be available in the gathering space, look for the high-top table with the "Soup Supper Sign-Up".

2019 Congregational Annual Meeting

The congregational annual meeting will be held Sunday, February 24th , from 10-10:30 a.m.

Copies of the Annual Report will be available on Thursday, February 14th .

Wednesdays are Winners with CoG Dinners!

Come and enjoy dinner on Wednesday nights from 5:00 to 6:15 p.m.

$5 per person; $15 per family.

Here's what's on the menu for February:

Feb. 20th - Scalloped Potatoes and Ham, Corn, Dinner Roll

Feb. 27th - Lasagna, Mixed Vegetables, Garlic Bread

Salad Bar and desserts are served with all meals.

Kitchen Essentials Ministry

Cold Mornings - Time for Hot Coffee or Tea!

Minnesota winter mornings are always brisk but a good cup of coffee or tea and a piece of warm buttery toast is a great way to start the day. In February and March, the Kitchen Essentials Ministry is collecting new or gently used coffee pots, teapots, and toasters.

The Kitchen Essentials Ministry provides Carver County families in need with essential kitchen items. Almost

all of the families we serve are in need of coffee pots, teapots, and toasters. We also continue to accept donations of other kitchen items. Donations can be placed in the alcove behind the kitchen at Crown of Glory.

VBS Coming to Crown of Glory:

Summer 2019!

Mark your calendars for VBS June 24th-28th, 2019 !

SEEKING VBS Registrar – to set up electronic registration.

SEEKING VBS Volunteers – Adults and Youth are invited to participate at CoG during VBS June 24-28, 2019!

SEEKING VBS Host Homes – for the counselors from Green Lake Bible Camp who will be leading our VBS June 24-28, 2019 at CoG. Counselors will arrive on Sunday, June 23rd . Host homes would be hosting two or more college students for this week filled with fun and faith!

SEEKING VBS Planning Team – we will meet three times before VBS starts to plan the week including processes, publicity, snacks, and counselor meals. We are looking for 4-5 people to share ideas and activities leading up to this awesome fun week! The first meeting is on Sunday, February 10th .

Healing Ministry Book Study

The COG Healing Ministry team invites you to consider your own gifting in healing as we explore the Judeo-Christian tradition of healing through Biblical Oils, prayer and "laying on of hands."
