Be #BUCSAFE
In continuous, strategic preparation for our campus return, the University Pandemic Task Force has recommended policies and procedures to help mitigate the risk of COVID-19 for our CSU Family. Each decision is influenced by research and guidance from a variety of agencies including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC), specifically as it relates to their guidelines for higher education institutions. See the 5 Steps below to help keep our campus family healthy and safe. For additional info, go to charlestonsouthern.edu/bucsafe.
STEP 1: Watch President Costin introduce #BUCSAFE
STEP 2: Review the Return to Campus Guide

Outlined in the guidelines are best practices for every area of campus. Protocols include screening, physical (social) distancing practices, a face covering policy, hand hygiene recommendations, cleaning and disinfection modifications, and a clear approach for quarantine and isolation measures.

Most, if not all, of your questions can be answered in this document, so please read it in its entirety. Also included is a waiver that all students must complete prior to reporting to campus. You will be prompted to sign the waiver the next time you login to MyCSU.

For residential students ONLY:
Proof of a negative COVID-19 test is required at least 24 hours prior to a student's check-in time. Click here to review the steps for submission.
STEP 3: Join us for weekly Town Hall meetings

Miss out on Thursday's BUCSAFE Town Hall on Zoom? You can catch the recorded presentation and answers to FAQs here. The next Town Hall for students and their families is planned for this Thursday, Aug. 6 at 5:30 p.m.

STEP 4: Download the LiveSafe App

All faculty, staff, and students are required to self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure before arriving on campus or leaving dorm rooms. Please use the LiveSafe app to complete the Daily Health Check. Students must display the app results before entering buildings/classrooms. You can download it in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

View the LiveSafe flyer here for more information.
STEP 5: Be a #BUCSAFE Role Model

Loving your neighbor as yourself will be more than a motto at CSU--it will be a way of life. Please help us keep our CSU Family healthy! Take a look at our pledge here.
