  • Congratulations to our Woodland Quiz Bowl team for winning the regional championship!
  • Inside Out Studio in Farmington is displaying work from several art students from Woodland throughout the months of February and March. They would like to invite all students and parents to come by the studio to see their student's artwork on display. For more information, please contact Ms. Sanford at [email protected]
  • Seventh grade students who earned a GPA of 3.5 or better during the first semester received letters this week inviting them to apply for Woodland's chapter of National Junior Honor Society. Students are responsible for obtaining an application from Mrs. Kroening in room D-8. Teacher recommendations are due Mon., Feb. 11 and student applications are due Fri., Feb. 15 at 8:50 a.m.
  • The Yvonne Richardson Community Center will sponsor numerous Summer Fun4Teens Camps for grades 6-8 that are very affordable. For more information and/or to apply, go to http://www.fayetteville-ar.gov.
     
  • We will be following an Activity Bell Schedule Fri., Feb. 8 to allow time for the school pep rally. If you know that you will need to check your student out, please do so before the pep rally. 
  • The WJHS yearbook has been honored with an appearance in Walsworth's exclusive Possibilities book. You can read the full press release here.

Feb. 5:    Bulldog Bash field trip to FHS from 8:45-11:45 &  FHS staff will be at Woodland after                    lunch to help students select courses
Feb. 6:    FHS Parent Info Night from 5:30-6:30 
               -rising 9th graders in the PAC
               -rising 9th-12th ELL session in the Blackbox
Feb. 7:    Pick-A-Time open to schedule conferences (closes at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27)
Feb. 27:  CAP conferences for 9th-12th grades, FHS Commons from 4:30-8:00 p.m.

Current 7th Grade Parents: Tues., Jan. 29 your student brought home a Career Action Planning (CAP) information letter that explains the CAP process, the vital part parents/guardians play in the process, and how to schedule a CAP conference. New Free Tutoring Options

We have new tutoring options available. Students can participate in free tutoring sessions Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and transportation home is provided if needed.

We also offer tutoring sessions Mondays and Thursdays 7:30-8:15 a.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m.
As always, drinks and snacks will be provided at every session.

Please contact Mr. Glade at  [email protected] for information about free transportation on Tuesdays as space is limited.
Mark your calendars! Our Ramay and Woodland ELA teachers are holding a Dinner & Family Literacy Night  during the Woodland-Ramay basketball games on Thursday, February 7th from 5-7pm. Literacy Night will be held in the Fayetteville High School Cafeteria and dinner will be served. Our teachers are looking for some helping hands from Woodland and Ramay parents. If you are able to volunteer, see the signup genius below!

Band Tryout Info

Did your student miss their chance to do beginning band this year as a 7th grader? Starting next year, we will allow 8th graders to be in beginning band!

Students who are interested should come to the band room during advisory Mon.-Fri. this week and tryout to play either flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, or percussion. 
Robotics Team Wins Conference

Congratulations to the Woodland Robotics Team on their big win last weekend! They beat out 15 teams to win the Middle School Division Conference Championship at the VEX VRC Robotics Competition.

2019-20 Sports Tryout Info

Below is a link for the 2019 FPS sports tryout dates and requirements for next school year's 2019-20 teams. Please note that ALL students participating in a tryout will need a current physical.

We have also added the dates to the Woodland website calendar.
It's time for our Valentine's Day Snack Shack at Woodland! Please help us by signing up to bring goodies or volunteering for a shift!

Plan on dropping items off the day before the sale at the Woodland front office. If you plan to drop off the day of the sale, please deliver all items by 7:30 a.m. for setup. 

(Note: Due to changes in Fayetteville Public School District policy, we cannot have home-baked goods at the sale. All items must be commercially prepared and packaged with a nutrition label.)
