Eight Aiken Schenk attorneys recognized as “Best Lawyers in America”
Congratulations to Shawn Aiken , Joe Schenk , Lamar Hawkins , Michael Petitti , Philip Rupprecht , Ty Taber , Richard Gerry and Burr Shields , who have been selected for recognition on the 2019 list of The Best Lawyers in America. They will be listed among the top attorneys in the country in the 25th edition of the publication.

Best Lawyers is the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession. A listing in the publication signals not only legal expertise, but also, ethics and high-caliber professionalism.

Aiken was selected for his work in arbitration, commercial litigation, and mediation. Additionally, Aiken was recognized as one of the 2019 "Lawyer of the Year" award recipients for his work in arbitration in Phoenix. Only a single lawyer in each practice area and community is honored with a "Lawyer of the Year" award.

Schenk was selected for his work in commercial litigation. Hawkins was selected for his work in bankruptcy and creditor debtor rights /insolvency and reorganization law. Petitti and Shields were recognized for their work in employment and labor law. Gerry and Taber were both selected for their work in personal injury litigation. Rupprecht was recognized for his work in trusts and estates. All eight of these attorneys have received the Best Lawyers in America recognition multiple times in the past.

Arizona Supreme Court Addresses Statute of Limitations for Debt Collectors


The Arizona Supreme Court recently held that the statute of limitations on a credit card debt subject to an optional acceleration clause commences "when the debtor first fails to make a full, agreed-to minimum monthly payment."
