We're Heading to Utah State this Weekend!
This Week's Cherry Zone Gets You Ready
Hello Lobo Fan!

We're in Logan, Utah this Saturday to face the Utah State Aggies - an important Mountain West divisional matchup! In this week's edition we have some unique stories on several of our student-athletes: how about a story on identical twins from Fiji facing each other as collegiate athletes? Read about this story and more in our newest Cherry Zone Newsletter!

Here's what we have for you in this edition:

  • Hear from Coach Davie: Coach made the rounds with his weekly press conference and local radio interviews (special Brayden interview included)
  • Tamaivena Twins will Battle Again: Read about this rare matchup between two twins
  • Love your Lobos Pledge Program by Sadie's: We'd love to have you join Sadie's of New Mexico and tell us how you Love Your Lobos by pledging $0.89 to Lobo Football!

Hear from Coach Davie on Prep for Utah State
Each week, Coach Davie connects with local media, supporters and fans to recap the previous game and look ahead to the upcoming match-up. We've brought you his weekly press conference. Have a listen to these interviews and get prepped for Saturday's action.
Special Bonus Interview: Senior tight end, Brayden Dickey, joins the Opening Drive crew for an interview that recaps the Fresno State game but also includes a compelling story about why Brayden joined the Lobos after he played at the University of Washington!
Tamaivena Twins Will Battle Each Other Again
In last week's edition of Cherry Zone, we highlighted how the Polynesian culture in the UNM football locker room reinforces the family atmosphere of our program. For the second time in their careers, the Tamaivena brothers will square up against each other when the Utah State Aggies host the Lobos. Sitiveni "Siti" from UNM and Suliasi "Suli" at USU will battle each other for the second and potentially last time in their careers. We've pulled a story from the archives (written before their first matchup last year) that highlights the unique journey these twins took to the Mountain West conference.

UNM Football Love Your Lobos Pledge Program
We wanted to remind you of the opportunity to celebrate the good work our student-athletes do on and off the field through our "Love Your Lobos" program. They do a phenomenal job not just on the field, check out what else they do and show your support with metrics you care most about!

In partnership with Sadie's of New Mexico, the "Love Your Lobos" program is a simple way to support our student-athletes in a way that matches what you care about. You can pledge $0.89 for our success in an offensive, defensive or academic category. In return, Sadie's of NM provides you with a $10.00 off coupon for in-store or online purchases! Take a look!
Lobo Center to Play in Front of His Family
Offensive Lineman Kyle Stapley has brought a great attitude and physical presence to this year's team. Stapley is a 22 year-old sophomore who served a two-year Latter Day Saints mission after graduating from Morgan High School in Utah. He attended attended Snow Junior College (Ephram, UT) before transferring to UNM. This Saturday he'll be returning to Utah and will be supported by friends and family in this important Mountain West matchup.
