New "Hot Spot" Map for
New Access Point
Applications - Mississippi
HRSA's current New Access Point Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) offers priority points for High Unmet Need, FQHC Look-Alike status and Sparsely Populated Areas. The High Unmet Need category is met by proposing to establish a full-time service site in a "hot spot zip code, a total of 82 zip codes for Mississippi.

In addition to the PPS rate, FQHCs will receive an additional fee for certain services provided after normal FQHC operating hours (8:00-5:00 M-F), when billing claims with codes 99050 and 99051.
The services will be paid at the existing fee-for-service rate on the MS Medicaid Physician Fee Schedule

The Association for Rural Health Professional Coding (ARHPC) is part of Universal Medical & Compliance, a Georgia company, will provide coding and documentation educational and training services to the clinical and professional staff of CHCs in MS related to clinical documentation, coding, and billing. ARHPC will conduct 1 4-hr training session in Memphis, TN on 2/16/2019 on items including E&M documentation, ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding & Reporting, surgical package differences, preventive visits, and modifiers. All efforts will include any 2019 updates in addition to risk adjusted coding via HCCs and HEDIS.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through Community Health Center Association of Mississippi. Clinical Scholars
is a national leadership development program for experienced health practitioners. Clinical Scholars fellows include pharmacists, physical therapists, veterinarians, dentists, social workers, nurses, physicians, and many others working in clinical or academic settings. Through mentoring, networking, and an intensive curriculum centered on equity,
they deepen their influence and impact as leaders with the power to transform their workplaces and communities
. Working in teams of two to five representing diverse disciplines, they design an innovative project to address a complex health problem in their area. Teams receive
annual grant funding up to $525,000
so members can participate in the three-year program at no cost to themselves or their organizations. Clinical Scholars is
one of several programs created by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
to develop a network of strong, interdisciplinary leaders from every sector working to create a nation where everyone can reach their best possible health and well-being.
