Are you looking for some adventure during winter break? Join the Nature Center as we explore the outdoors with activities like animal tracking, fire building, orienteering and SO much more!
If you enjoy regular visits to Heritage Park, become a trained bluebird monitor volunteer! Bluebird monitors get the opportunity to visit sensitive areas of the park, while gathering information from bird nest boxes. Collect data to be used by national programs that help protect birds around the country.
All training and materials provided. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Maple Sugaring
Spring is right around the corner, so come celebrate by discovering the wonder of making maple syrup! Learn to identify and select a maple tree, then witness the ancient process of collecting the sap, boiling it down to syrup and finish with a a PURE maple syrup treat!

Nature's Little Artist
Winter session of Nature's Little Artists is accepting drop-ins! Explore the natural world of art with your child, as children use a variety of painting techniques and crafts to make masterpieces!
*Children do not have to be potty trained and parents must stay*
Make your Valentines Day plans early and sign up for the Sweetheart Stroll! Enjoy a candle-lit hike through the trails of Heritage Park. Share your love of nature as we discover the courtship and mating behaviors of native animals. Complete the evening with a warm drink and sweet treats at the Nature Center. *Dress for the weather!
Heritage Park and Heavner Canoe Rental have partnered to offer a snowshoe wilderness adventure! Join other winter enthusiasts as we explore the woods on snowshoes. Lesson will be provided (additional charge for snowshoe rental). Dress for the weather and wear sturdy boots!

Winter Nature Homeschool
Enrich your child's knowledge and connection with the outdoors. A naturalist will lead hands-on experiences with different nature themes and STEM activities each week. Meet other homeschool families and supplement your home lessons!
This is a drop-off program, so be sure your child is dressed for the weather and exploring outdoors.

We've partnered with Heavner Canoe Rental so you can explore the wonder of winter with ease. Come by the Nature Center office during open hours, and we'll get you set up with your rental snowshoes.
