Tattered Cover Presents... Women Writers: Events, News & Book Reviews - March 2018

Dear Readers... It's been a few months since our last Women Writers newsletter. Now that the bustle of the holidays is long over and we're all settled into 2018, March is the perfect month to bring this back. Why? Because it's Women's History Month and this Thursday, March 8, is International Women's Day. How do you plan to celebrate? This mailing list has gained many more subscribers since we last used it; therefore, I want to welcome anyone who may not have seen the first issue. In this newsletter, we will be highlighting author events, books, and news from women writers of all genres . You will find everything from children's literature and cookbooks to memoirs and historical fiction. Maybe you'll even discover something new that you never would've noticed before! Thank you for being a part of this up and coming project. We promise this newsletter will soon become a regular thing. And, in the coming months you can expect interviews with female authors! Colorado author Emily Littlejohn presented her new mystery novel A Season to Lie at Colfax Avenue on Friday, March 2. A Season to Lie is her second Detective Gemma Monroe mystery.

Local author Danica Favorite greeted a young fan at her book talk for her latest romance novel Honor-Bound Lawman at Aspen Grove on Friday, March 2. Honor-Bound Lawman is the eighth book in Favorite's Leadville series.

The Last Time I Wore a Dress by Daphne Scholinski (now Dylan Scholinski) with Jane Meredith Adams "Transgender rights are getting more attention, but not many people talk about the institutionalization of trans people that was (and in many places, still is) commonplace. Scholinski's account of his time spent as a teenager in mental health facilities is a wonderfully honest coming-of-age story transplanted into a stifling, authoritarian environment.
