2020-2021 School Year
We know that 2020 has been a challenge for many families and has brought unexpected trials your way. As the school year is fast approaching, we want to wish you a safe and healthy semester and hope that you remain positive no matter what format you've chosen for your family. Wilkes County 4-H is here and is willing to help out in any way we can! Please let Ms. Whitney know what your needs are, and we can come up with a plan!

Ms Whitney is compiling resources to help align with NC Essential Standards and putting together a virtual platform to help aid our 4-H families during remote learning and homeschooling. If you are interested in accessing this information, please send Whitney an email at [email protected] or call 336-620-5035 and she'll get you signed up when it goes live.   This will be a living, and evolving document as the school year continues.

Record Book Workshops
4-H Record books teach members valuable, lifelong skills in records, accounting, reporting, and written communication. Youth are able to track their activities, events, profits and losses, skill development and learning experiences and compile all of this information into a record book.

Record Books for 2020 will be due into the 4-H Office by 5PM on Friday, December 11.

4-H Record Books:
1) Give members an opportunity to reflect on their yearly work where they can measure their achievements and growth during their 4-H years.

2) Encourage members to set goals, develop plans to meet those goals, and to shift gears in the face of challenges and obstacles.

4) Offer opportunities for 4-H scholarships, travel opportunities, leadership positions, and awards at the county, state, and national levels.

5) Are an ongoing, educational and a fundamental part of a member's 4-H experience!

To help guide new members and refresh existing members, Wilkes County 4-H hosts a record book workshop annually. This workshop has helpful tips for the youth and parents, and reviews any changes and updates to forms and procedures.
This event will be held live via Zoom. Attendees will receive a URL link once registered.

4-H Online - Enrollment Required
At the start of each year NC State requires us to do new enrollments for every 4-H participant. This includes anyone who is planning to do any activity in 4-H during 2020. This year we've ditched the paper and gone online for this service! The new website is very simple and allows you to create a profile for your family and add each child - it also allows you to renew every year without re-entering the information all over again.

Please go to  https://nc.4honline.com and create a profile if you haven't already. If you have completed one, please log and click "enroll for 2020" year.

This has to be done in order to take part in ANY 4-H activity.

If you have trouble or need help, please feel free to call me or schedule an appointment.. I'll be glad to walk you through it!

Like us on Facebook!
The best way to stay up to date on what's happening at Wilkes County 4-H is to check out our Facebook page! Many of our clubs also have pages.
