DRAGON TALES
OCTOBER 25, 2018

Dear St. George Families,

When I was teaching, right around this time of year, I would read my principal's newsletter and could always count on a comment referring to how fast the year is going. Even though I feel the same way this year, it is important for all of us to think about what we left behind in the wake of this speedy journey - to reflect on our accomplishments and failures. I always taught my students and own children to never look back and say, I wish I would have done this, or I shouldn't have done that. No one ever wants to have regrets. With this said, as I think about the last few months, there have been many positive events so far this year. We continue to learn and grow together - even if it is through failing. After all, at the end of the day, it is about taking the experiences we encounter and reflect on whether to use them, fix them, or toss them out. I have no regrets - only visions - visions of making a positive difference in the lives of those who God puts in my life.

In the words of Ida Scott Taylor:
"One day at a time - this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone: and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering."

God bless,
Jack Nelson
