Parsha Minute
When reading about Avraham sacrificing his son Yitzchak, we hear very little about the role of the 37 year old Yitzchak. What was his role in preparing to be the sacrifice? Find out in the parsha minute from my bar mitzvah parsha, Vayera!
Shabbat Shalom!

From the desk of our
S.T.E.A.M. Lab
This week in STEAM we wrapped up our lessons about our 5 senses. EC15 & EC2 focused on hearing, seeing, and smelling. They made a strawberry-banana scented volcano, used different sound bottles, played instruments, and made smelly ooblek. EC3 and EC4 focused on how our skin is used for our sense of touch, and how our ears help us hear. They learned the inner workings of the skin and ear, described what they felt as we made salt dough and had to guess what different sounds they were hearing.

Red Ribbon Week
Students school-wide participated in the national Red Ribbon campaign, which advocates drug prevention and healthy choices. Students dressed up throughout the week in different themes, and played fun "red" pranks on members of the admin team, all to raise awareness about a drug free lifestyle and making good life choices.

When Every Second Counts
Upper school students, as well as students in 4th and 5th grades, got to hear from former Hebrew Academy student Cari Margulis Immerman about the amazing life-saving volunteer work she does through United Hatzalah Israel. Hatzalah, which means rescue in Hebrew, strives to have at least one volunteer on almost every street in Israel, so that first-responders can be at the scene of an emergency in under one minute.

Shirley's Corner
First grade students in Mrs. Schneider's class enjoyed a special visit to Shirley's Corner, located in the school library, to hear from Mrs. Shirley Shoifet. Shirley sang songs with them and told them some of her favorite stories. Shirley's Corner was created through the Better2Lead initiative last year, which fulfilled dreams of some of the residents of the Medallion.

Missing Mezuzot
One may be wondering where all the RMBA
mezuzot have gone. 81
mezuzot were checked by Rabbi Graniztky this week, while the remainder will be getting checked next week. Students are excited to learn about the mitzvah of
mezuzah.

Brave Super Heroes
Mrs. Schneider’s first grade class has been learning different strategies to figure out tricky words. Learning how to keep trying after a first attempt requires one to be brave. Earlier this week, each child received his or her super hero cape to help remember to “be BRAVE” with tricky words.

Personalized Torahs
Students in Morah Esther's EC2 class love finding their Torahs in the morning and showing off their
aleph bet (Hebrew alphabet) decoding skills. All the stuffed decorated Torahs are placed on the carpet. All of the children are called to find their Torah by finding their Hebrew initials. Once all of the children have their own Torah in hand, the class sings and dances before putting them away.
