Jewish Hospital Transition Update!
The Jewish Hospital pre-transition is at a close. Services for Jewish Hospital and 4 other sites including Medical Center East, Medical Center South, Medical Center Northeast and Jewish Hospital Shelbyville are up and running as of October 1 st . These services include AP and CP and involve nearly all of our current faculty as well as the addition of a pathologist and pathology assistant. The department has assigned staff to needed directorships over the aforementioned facilities and has worked diligently to prepare for nearly doubling our current services. A special thanks to all who have put in so much time and effort into making this a reality.
Go team!
...with all this transitioning, how about lunch?
Dr. Hattab and AP staff hosted a luncheon on August 27 th . Dr. Elin and CP staff hosted a luncheon on September 27 th . The luncheons focused on introducing Jewish laboratory staff to the U of L faculty and addressed questions and concerns. The incoming staff were appreciative of AP and CP faculty taking the time to meet and address the group. Catering did a wonderful job of providing the food and beverages for the event. Dr. Hattab, Dr. Elin, the AP and CP groups have done an excellent job of continuing an open dialogue with the Jewish laboratory. Communication is key!
Past Jewish site visits
Dr. Hattab, Dr. Fraig and Tim Travis visited all outlying Jewish system sites in mid-September to meet leadership and employees of the various locations. This was a daylong trip which took the group to four locations spread between Louisville, Shepherdsville, and Shelbyville. While at each location they visited the facility laboratories and gained some insight into location of each as well as the physical space inside each laboratory. Ms. Dorie Shelburne, Director of Operations for Ambulatory Care met to discuss specific location procedures and the logistics of transitioning services to UL Pathology. Both Drs. Hattab and Fraig were impressed by how well the facilities presented and how the locations operated.
If the presentation of these facilities are any indication of our transition, we are in good shape!
