Call for Coach of the Year Nominations
Deadline: February 14

Whatever the reason we start Masters swimming, many of us depend on our coaches to keep us coming back to the pool. Whether it is providing stroke instruction to help us improve or stay injury-free, workouts that are interesting and challenging, or a word of encouragement when we are feeling down, our coaches are an essential element of our swimming routine. Please consider recognizing his or her efforts by nominating your coach for the Pacific Masters Coach of the Year Award. Submissions should include a nomination letter along with a maximum of four support letters. A description of the award along with the nomination and selection process can be found here. More details can be found here. Nominations for Pacific Masters Coach of the Year are due Thursday, February 14, 2019 and should be sent to the
Chair of Pacific Masters .
USMS Gold Clubs

USMS has launched the concept of Gold Clubs. There are probably Pacific Masters clubs that currently qualify for this status that have not been designated and others that could qualify with a few minor adjustments. Interested clubs should review the requirements on the USMS website or contact Stu Kahn (kahnswim@gmail.com) or Bill Brenner at the USMS National Office.

For those swimmers keen on swimming the longer events offered at Rinconada, perhaps you would be interested in a southern California meet. Conejo Valley Masters is hosting a swim meet at Cal Lutheran University, Samuelson Aquatics Center, 60 West Olsen Rd., Thousand Oaks, CA. The pool is an outdoor 25- yard by 50-meter pool with up to 8 competition lanes.  Information and Registration
