Hi Everyone -
It is a New Year. Before fully accepting that we are mid-way through January already, we need to reflect back on December for a moment and thank those who made IT ALL happen.
The
Carriage Ride
tradition continued despite a small hiccup regarding a town ordinance which we hope to fix before December of next year! The stately horse-drawn carriages meandered through the Almond Grove and down N. Santa Cruz Avenue carrying families, sweethearts and friends celebrating the holiday season. More than 2,000 people enjoyed the rides again this year. There are so many people to thank for helping make this annual event a success.
- Thank you to our wonderful Board Member, Dave Hernandez of Los Gatos Auto Service for constructing our Carriage Ride house.
- Thanks to our site coordinators, Sean Becker, Charlie Laurencio and Phil Cyncor-McMillan. You gentlemen brought a great youthful spirit to the Ride House.
- Thanks to Ginger Rowe of Time Out Clothing who organized all of the volunteers - and to Boys Team Charity. We could not do it with you boys.
- Thank you to the Town of Los Gatos for their invaluable assistance and for being flexible. Thanks to the folks who live in the Almond Grove neighborhood who so beautifully decorate their homes making the ride so magical.
- Last but not least, thanks to Mel Silva, his horses and the cowboys and to our riders who bring this tradition to life.
We also decked the Town with a flair this year. More than 300 wreaths with red ribbons donned the trees along the avenues.
Linda Lester - Thank you!
Our Third Annual
