Annual Performance Report score: 98.7 percent
District maintains high score on state measures 
The Raymore-Peculiar School District has achieved a 98.7 percent score on its Annual Performance Report (APR) from the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
 
The 2018 report includes student achievement data, graduation rates, attendance rates, and college and career readiness indicators. The report measures how well the District serves students under specific state guidelines and is used to determine a school district's accreditation. Districts must score at 70 percent or higher to be fully accredited.
 
The District received 118.4 out of 120 total points possible on the APR.
 
"We are proud the accomplishments of our students are recognized on the APR," said Superintendent Dr. Kari Monsees. "Our teachers, administrators and support staff work hard every day to ensure our students are success ready. We have plenty of measures of success locally, but it is good to receive confirmation from the state that we are doing well as a district."
Foundation Prize Patrol awards more than $13,000
Grants presented at every school
A grant award at RPHS will help with Senior DRIVE projects.
The Foundation Prize Patrol traveled the District on Jan. 31, to present grant awards.

Many of the grants will be used for robotics and engineering activities.

Members of the Raymore-Peculiar Public School Foundation Board visited every school, surprising teachers and their students as part of the foundation's semi-annual "prize patrol," distributing over-sized checks for 17 classroom impact grants. Two additional grants were awarded using Foundation discretionary funds. In addition, the Board presented awards for three projects funded by the Ray-Pec Cares 2018 Gala Fund-A-Need contributions. Those dollars were donated during the Foundation's annual fundraiser. This year's Gala is scheduled for Feb. 23.

The Foundation's mission is to enhance educational opportunities for the benefit of students, staff, and the community. The Foundation invited staff to apply for grants of up to $750 to be used this year.  See photos of all grant presentations.
Another snow makeup day added to current calendar
Due to the snow day on Wednesday, Jan. 30, the District calendar now shows the last day of school as an early release on Friday, May 24.

Students will attend school on these snow makeup days: Feb. 19, March 25, and April 22. In addition, there will be full days of classes on May 22 and 23.

Any additional make-up days will be added to the end of the school year. 

Feb. 18-19 schedule

Schools will not be in session on Monday, Feb. 18, in observance of President's Day. School is in session on Tuesday, Feb. 20, for the 1st snow makeup day.
Ray-Pec team raises over $15,000 at Polar Plunge
"Da' Plungers of Ray-Pec" are tops at Longview Lake event
More than 80 Ray-Pec students and staff members took the plunge into Longview Lake to raise money for Special Olympics! 

"Da' Plungers of Ray-Pec" raised more money than any other team - with contributions of more than $15,000. As of Jan. 31, the entire event had raised more than $128,000.

Thanks to everyone in the community who participated or supported the Ray-Pec effort!
