Happy New year!

It’s been quiet the past couple of months in the Province with the majority of course shops being closed during the winter months. For those who do work in their buildings year-round, many are busy cleaning parking lots and getting things ready for the spring including doing some paper work for IPM and Pesticide Usages for the upcoming season as well as the provincial Nutrient Management Regulation applications.

CGSA is saddened to learn of the recent passing of David (Dave) Kennedy from North Vancouver. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. David has been a CGSA member since 1996. This photo was taken when he hosted the Canadian Pacific Women's Open in 2015 at The Vancouver Golf Club. He was in the business for over 40 years and will be greatly missed.

Sam DiPinto passed away recently. He was a member of the CGSA for many years and a well respected golf course superintendent for over 35 years. His grandson, Denver Hart, pictured here, was a CGSA top scholarship winner in 2017. Denver has taken over his grandfather's passion for the turf industry. CGSA sends thoughts to his family and friends.
