SCREENCASTS FOR TEACHING & LEARNING

Screencasts are narrated video recordings of your computer screen. When thoughtfully planned, edited and aligned with learning objectives, a screencast can be a student-centered and engaging learning experience, and provide a simple way for students to access course content at anytime from anywhere. So how do you create a screencast and what are some best practices to ensure engagement and active learning?

CapU Faculty Offering Advice

Many CapU faculty are currently creating screencasts or read more. .

Marking with screencasts can be a helpful and more accessible way to provide feedback – and it saves time. Join instructor, Barb Mathieson, as she demonstrates how she uses Screencast-o-matic when she marks students’ papers. Bring your own laptops or tablets for some hands-on practice.

LIBERATING STRUCTURES NEW CAPU PRACTICE GROUP FOR FACULTY
After a successful kick-off, we are excited for the next meeting on November 22 ! Liberating Structures are a collection of interactive, engaging and easy to use facilitation strategies that can be used in the classroom. All faculty are welcome! Drop in to participate and/or sign up with CTE  to facilitate one of the structures.
