Mobility Matters seeking Volunteer Drivers
The Rides for Seniors and Veterans Programs bridges the gap in services for ambulatory seniors and disabled veterans in Costra Costa County who no longer drive and cannot access other forms of transportation. In our society, mobility equals independence, so without a safe and available alternative to driving, the end result for seniors is often institutionalization. Requirements: 1) Be caring, mature individuals who are willing and able to provide transportation to ambulatory seniors or veterans who can no longer drive. 2) Be age 25-75 with a current drivers license. Excellent driving record and crime free background. 3) Own or have access to a reliable vehicle that is registered and insured. 4) Participate in a training class before giving first ride. If you meet these requirements, come join our team and find out what a difference you can make in another person’s life. It will change their life, and it will most certainly change yours!
