A quick update about winter events.
January 2019
Dear  ,

Happy 2019! We hope the new year has been off to a wonderful start, and are excited to see you at some great upcoming events! Here's the news from the end of 2018 and a look at what's next:

Our Annual Winter Care Package Party was held on  November 11 at the home of Fatima Hanif '89 in Palo Alto. A group of alumnae assembled packages filled with stationery, face masks, and snacks to help our students get through the stressful period that is finals. We enjoyed some delicious tea and yummy appetizers as we recalled the care packages we'd received while at Smith.

The care packages emphasized self-care

On December 2, Laurie Daniels '81 hosted the 11th Annual Cookie Exchange at her home in San Mateo. Alumnae brought their cookies and treats to share and sample. We had a blast sipping hot cider, tea, wine, and soda while catching up with alumnae spanning many class years. At the end of the afternoon, we brought home the exchanged snacks in a holiday tin to share with our friends and family.

In November, the book club read "Little Fires Everywhere" by Celeste Ng. This month, we will be reading "Middlemarch" by George Eliot on January 16 If you're interested in joining us, please contact Sally Smith '64 for more information.

Coming up next is our Annual Cider Party for Prospective Students and Alumnae .  Please join us for a lovely New Year tradition, where we welcome new Smithies: the class of 2023! Mingle with prospective, recently accepted, current students and Alumnae alike.  This event will be held at the home of Laura Selznick '68  on  Sunday, January 13, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Palo Alto.  If you're interested in joining us, please RSVP  via Facebook , Evite invite (club members only), or reach out to the club directly through  email  for the address
