College Prep Invitational Announces 2018 New Jersey Event
Applications Open with 'Fund My Ride' Opportunities Available
 
Miami, Florida - March 5, 2018 - The College Preparatory Invitational (CPI) has secured the beautiful Ridge Farm at Riverview in Asbury, New Jersey for the 2018 CPI New Jersey event, which will take place September 15-16, 2018. Applications for the event are open and available on the CPI Website , space is extremely limited so riders are encouraged to submit their applications early.   The judge, clinician, and hire a coach for the event will be named at a later date.
 
During the CPI event, riders experience the college equestrian competition format and win scholarships in hunt seat equitation competition; they can explore an equestrian-focused college fair, attend educational presentations and take advantage of the opportunity for direct conversations with college admissions representatives and equestrian team coaches. 
 
Important dates for student riders considering participation at CPI New Jersey are as follows:
  • Applications Open: Applications are NOW available (The $30.00 Application Fee will be applied to the Entry Fee for all applications received before midnight on May 31, 2018)
  • Application Late Fee Assessed Beginning: July 15, 2018
  • Applications Close: August 15, 2018
Important dates for Scholarships available through the CPI Scholarship & Educational Fund:
  • CPI New Jersey Essay Due: August 1, 2018
  • CPI New Jersey Horsemanship Test Deadline: August 1, 2018
  • CPI New Jersey Service Award: August 1, 2018
  • CPI New Jersey Photo Contest: October 15, 2018
The cost to attend the CPI is $530.00, which includes horse show entries, access to the college fair and event speakers, and sponsor-hosted social events throughout the weekend. There is a $30 application fee, which will be put towards the entry fee of $530 for those who apply before May 31, 2018. All participants are also eligible to participate in CPI scholarship opportunities.
 
The CPI Mounted Clinic will take place on Saturday, September 15, 2018 and is open to a limited number of student riders.  The cost for the clinic is $325.00, and you must be registered for the CPI Horse Show to participate.
 
Also, open to riders participating at the 2018 CPI New Jersey Horse Show is the CPI Scholarship and Educational Fund - Jr. Ambassador Program "Fund My Ride" program where riders can fundraise their entry for the 2018 CPI New Jersey Horse Show. About the CPI Jr. Ambassadors Program
Through the CPI Jr. Ambassador Program , volunteers in grades 5-12 have an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge through a yearlong, hands-on learning experience that includes all aspects of managing a series of successful events. Mentored by professionals and working as part of a cohesive team, participants in the program will develop valuable business and life skills including:  time management and communication skills, fund raising, event planning, promotions and media relations.
 
About the College Preparatory Invitational
The CPI is designed to educate student riders about the different formats of college equestrian competitions and provide riders with resources to help them create their desired college equestrian experience. Riders in grades 8 through 12 have a chance to win scholarships in hunt seat equitation competition and participate in educational presentations throughout the event. In an effort to encourage academic excellence and embed social integrity as a lifelong commitment to the equestrian sport, the CPI Scholarship and Educational Fund also awards riders the opportunity to win scholarships for academics and community service.
