Next Job Fair November 20th
Keep your eyes on the look-out for job fairs and other events. EIC is hosting our next campus job fair on November 20th Belleville campus from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the student lounge on the 2nd floor. Even if you are not looking for work, it's always good to stop in and say hello, introducing yourself and providing the employer with the answer to, "Tell me about yourself," when you approach the table. When you have face-time with the employer, it helps for you to stand out and build future relationships.
Is It Okay To Take Give-Away Items From Job Fair Tables?
Etiquette reminder: Do not walk up to job fair tables like you are on a treasure hunt. After you speak with the employer, it is appropriate to ask if you can have an item, and if they state yes, then politely collect the item. Also, be sure to ask for business cards so you have the information to thank them for taking time to speak with you during the job fair. If they will not give that to you, then email me the thank you letter and ask me to forward the thank you letter to the employer on your behalf.
What Should I Do When Speaking With Employers?
DO NOT  let the employer know that you are nervous. If you do, you lose credibility with them. For example, two employers from the last job fair in October, stated that EIC students and graduates were very respectful and kind, which makes us super proud to hear. They also stated that they had several students/graduates who shared with them that they were nervous when they went up to their table.

The employer's attitude is that you are the person who can best explain who you are and share what is great about you. Practice answering the question to, "Tell me about yourself," which is the skeleton of your resume, your confidence, and your transferable skills.

If you need extra help, make an appointment with Jennifer.
Do I Need A Resume For The Job Fair &
Can I Get Help With My Resume?
You do want to have a resume for the job fair and be sure to have plenty of copies of it to give to the employers in attendance. This shows professionalism. You can certainly get help with your resume from Career Services. Email Jennifer your resume in Word format and she'll assist you. Also, if you have not made your appointment to do your SESSION, email Jennifer to arrange a time for your 2-hour SESSION and get on your way to becoming a master at interviewing!
Do I Need An Appointment Or Can I Just Drop By?
Yes, you need an appointment to meet with Jennifer. She works on both Jersey City and Belleville campuses. She is not always on campus because she also works out in the field in obtaining new job opportunities for you.

Please keep in mind that all appointments are booked on a first come, first served basis and you will be provided with an email confirmation with the agreed upon date/time.

Thanksgiving is a great time to express gratitude. I am thankful for the people and experiences I have encountered along the way. I am also grateful to have found work that is meaningful and congruent with who I am as a person and all that I value and that is, being helpful to others.

We can  ALWAYS  find something to be grateful for.

Student Speaker At Our
Ceremony
On October 31, 2018 we had a White Coat Ceremony at the Jersey City Campus.
The White Coat Ceremony (WCC) is a relatively new ritual in nursing schools that marks the student's transition from the study of pre-clinical health sciences. The ceremony was heartfelt and you could feel the excitement in the room. Each student was called by name and stepped up to be presented with their symbolic white coat and rose. Families were in attendance and it was beautiful to see the proud faces of family members as they watched each of our 13 nursing students beam with pride, sporting their white coats. Eastern International College was proud to present them with this honor. Ultimately, we are instilling a commitment to provide compassionate care among future health professionals. Way to go! Eastern International College is proud of you!
