A Salute to Our Veterans

Concert begins at 7:30 PM

The Houston Choral Society will mark the 100 th  commemoration of the Armistice that ended World War I with  A Salute to Our Veterans.   HCS pays tribute to our nation's veterans with an emotional and stirring presentation of patriotic choral arrangements.  The program begins at 7:30 PM on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Tallowood Baptist Church.  

Under the direction of Dr. Kevin M. Klotz, HCS Artistic Director, the program will feature patriotic readings, prayers, reflections and songs accompanied by piano. The University of Houston Air Force ROTC Color Guard will present the Colors. Some of the choral numbers included are: "The Star-Spangled Banner," "Battle Hymn of the Republic," and "A Tribute to the Armed Forces."    Featured HCS soloists are soprano Amy Ghanem, singing "God Bless America," and tenor Charles Thornburg, singing "Bring Him Home."

Concert Location:  Tallowood Baptist Church is located at 555 Tallowood Rd, Houston, TX 77024 near Town & Country Village and Memorial City Mall.

$10 for children ages 5 and younger. 
Group rates are available.

  6. SOUNDS OF WATER - (Chamber Choir): Friday, June 21, 2019 at 7:30 PM) - All Saints Catholic Church (This concert is free, donations welcome)
Adults: only $106; Seniors/Veterans/Students: only $85; Children 5 and under: only $43.  That's a savings of 15% for all six remaining concerts at three venues.

About Us

The Houston Choral Society (HCS) is a not-for-profit professional-quality civic chorus that serves the greater Houston area. Our mission is to bring great choral music to enrich the soul and advance the choral arts to Houston audiences.  We enjoy singing a wide variety of repertoire, including works by Handel, Mozart, Brahms, Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen, to more popular styles of music. Additionally, we often collaborate with professional musicians from the Houston area and as well as outstanding local high school choral ensembles.   

The Houston Choral Society recently performed Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Additionally, they have completed five international tours performing in England/Scotland, Italy, Hungary/Austria/Czech Republic, Ireland, and Germany/Austria.
