Last (Really!) Reminder to Order a Yearbook!
To ensure your child receives a yearbook with a FREE NAMEPLATE in May, you must order online at www.yearbookordercenter.com  (school code: 7378) by January 10, 2019. If you aren't sure whether you have ordered a book, search your email for a receipt from Herff Jones (and be sure it's for the 2019 book), or you can contact the yearbook adviser, Ms. Richey, at  [email protected]
Wheels Discontinuing Paper Transfers
Effective January 1, 2019, Wheels will not be issuing paper transfers for students to change buses. Here's what students can do instead:
  • When the student gets on the bus for the first time in the morning, give the driver two (2) Fare Buster or Senior/Disabled tickets. The driver will then give the student a Day Pass which can be used on the transfer and the return home. Day Passes offer unlimited rides during a single day.
  • Obtain a Youth Clipper Card - Effective January 1, 2019, a new Youth Fare of $1.60 will be available for passengers 18 years of age and younger who pay using a Youth Clipper Card. Youth Clipper Cards are available at no charge and are available online at clippercard.com, and in person at the Wheels Administrative Offices and the downtown Livermore Transit Center. This discount Youth Fare is not available with any other form of payment, including cash.

Go Green Waste Audit Sign-Up
Foothill is working on developing a recycling program on campus, but we need student help and participation to ensure the process goes smoothly!

Thursday, January 17th from 3-5PM there will be a waste audit as a part of this process. This means we are saving the lunchtime trash from that Thursday, meeting in the quad (under the blue shade structure), and sorting out the contents. This is to gauge how much trash, recycling, and organic waste our campus creates so the correct number of corresponding bins can be ordered. Seniors can get community service hours for participating. Here's the link to the sign-up form:
http://bit.ly/WasteAuditJan17 The parent sign up form (in the sign up form link) must by turned in to Ms. Friesen's mailbox by Tuesday, January 14 in order to participate

PPIE Survey Results
Please visit our website at  www.ppie.org  for survey results of our district-wide survey - see what Parent and Teacher priorities are for PPIE funding at your school and a summary of the many comments PPIE received (as well as our response). Also, through Super Bowl Sunday, PPIE is matching all parent donations for those who have not been able to yet. Don’t forget Corporate Matching (we make it easy) and consider extending payments over the school year. Thanks for your support!
Double Your Donation to PPIE
Super Match  campaign runs until February 3 (Super Bowl Sunday). For those who have donated to PPIE, thank you! For those who want an end of year or new year opportunity, your donations will be MATCHED with generous funds from the broader community. And now, we can accept securities/stocks allocations as well. Visit  www.ppie.org/donate  to learn how and to spread payments over 10 months! Feel free to contact us at  [email protected]  if you have any questions.
PPIE Launches “Inspire” Campaign
Every day, PUSD teachers and educators inspire their students to be their best selves and to contribute to the community. Today, PPIE announces a new  Inspire  campaign to publicly recognize the amazing staff we are able to fund — librarians, support counselors, intervention specialists, and onsite IT specialists. But we need your help to share their stories - here’s how!

  • January Nominations - Please use this brief form to nominate an educator from your school, from the list below of positions supported by PPIE. Submit nominations by Thursday, January 24. In the future, we hope to expand our scope and include more teachers and staff.
  • February Selection - A review committee of PPIE Ambassadors and Board members will review and select one person at each school. PPIE will ask each nominee if we can share their story publicly and include them in our Inspire campaign. Participation is completely voluntary.
  • March Promotion - PPIE will recognize those selected with an Inspire banner (see sample image) and story summary that will be shared with our schools and community.

The  Inspire  campaign is built on the notion that “success breeds success” and one way to sustain success is to celebrate it! We hope this campaign helps to publicly acknowledge what our teachers and educators have done to inspire our students. We appreciate your input – please  complete this simple form  to get started.
With Gratitude,
Steve McCoy-Thompson
Executive Director
