Happy New Years Greetings!

And welcome to my newest bi-weekly Barrie CRE "commercial real estate" news blast.
I'm hoping you'll enjoy it as much as I
enjoy writing it. The messages in this article are written for you.

  • How much is enough? Last weeks Mayor luncheon revealed the extent of new housing units being constructed in the city. The magic number is 2700. To put that into perspective he said the city's been averaging 600/year for the last 10 years. Wow!

  • Almost half a million dollars to improve downtown Barrie Public Library? As part of go ahead to build two condominium towers east of Owen Street across from the library the developer will need to spend a good chunk of change beautifying the library and space around it. Bonus for any commercial property owners in the immediate area. Let's all hope this makes it way through and gets built.

  • Welcome to Cannabis City! And why not? The "East" region which includes Barrie, Peterborough, the City of Kawartha Lakes, Belleville, Kingston and Ottawa have been given 5 retail licenses. Click here to see which other cities have opted in.

Stay tuned to learn more about Barrie and what's happening in and around the city. I'm actively involved and keeping informed on the development activities in Barrie. I'd be happy to answer any commercial real estate or mortgage questions.

Thank you,
