Dear Lancer Families,

As we start 2019, it is important to revisit our values and commitments, so that we build on a culture that supports learning and growth for all students. It is important to us that every student feels welcome, safe, and supported at La Follette High School. Who we are as a community is defined by our core values, and how each individual acts in alignment with those values. I ask you to affirm your commitment to supporting an inclusive school, and see every student for the best they are, and the best they can be.

Spring Musical
This year's spring musical is  Seussical , a fun journey through some of Dr. Seuss's most-loved stories.   The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

This family-friendly show can be seen at 7:30pm on March 1, March 2, March 7, March 8, and March 9, and at 2:30pm on March 9. Tickets will be available online in mid-February at here , or at the door. Student and senior tickets are $6, adult tickets are $8.
