Special Coverage: Senate Confirmation Hearing

This week KGOU has been airing live special coverage of the Senate confirmation hearing for U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Tonight at 7 p.m. NPR is offering a one-hour recap of the hearing so far -- the protests, the documents, the questions and Kavanaugh's answers will receive analysis by NPR's deep bench of correspondents covering politics, legal affairs, Congress and the White House. Due to the unpredictability of such hearings, KGOU's coverage may end at some point tomorrow. Our plans are to bring you live coverage of the vote on Kavanaugh's nomination as it is announced. Live video of the entire proceeding will be available on KGOU.org.

Sunday Limited-Run Series: The Politics Show

Starting Sept. 16 and running through the November election, KGOU's Sunday Radio Matinee will be The Politics Show from NPR -- a one-hour weekly roundtable discussion that is the definitive guide to the 2018 midterms. Featuring the trademark wit that has long characterized the popular NPR Politics Podcast, The Politics Show will feature reporters from a number of different perspectives -- from NPR's White House and Congressional teams to local station reporters covering local races. Tune in Sundays at 12 p.m.

Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! is celebrating 20 years on the air this year. The main event is a very special live recording of the show in the 2500-seat Chicago Theater on Thursday, Oct. 25. Featuring favorite panelists, favorite games, favorite language advisories and more, it will be a celebration of the  longevity of the show.
