This week at St. Columba's ... y ou may see the words, "Slow down, Quiet, It’s Advent" around St. Columba’s, but let’s be honest, that's really hard to do this time of year. We are all getting ready for Christmas by decorating our homes, buying presents, sending cards, baking cookies, going to parties and the list goes on. But, we are called in Advent to slow down and be quiet, so we can hear the voice of the one crying out in the wilderness, "Prepare the way of the Lord." How do we prepare our hearts and minds for the coming of the Christ child? It is time to listen to the wild man in the wilderness and make the path straight for Jesus. There are many twists and turns as we journey to Bethlehem, and we must be mindful it's not just about presents, but presence. May we be open to God’s presence and be present for others as we prepare the way of the Lord. ~ A message from Pattie Ames

Our regular schedule of worship with Eucharist offers services at 8, 9 and 11:15 am in the Church Nave, and Eucharist at 9:15 and 11:15 am for young children and their families in the Great Hall. Come worship with us!

And join us for a little fun as we "Stump the Rector" this Sunday, at 10:15 in the Azzi Lounge (2nd fl.) Bring your questions and be ready to enjoy a casual conversation with Ledlie.
Advent is here ... with that an invitation to wait and to keep watch for the coming of the Christ child. This Advent give yourself the gift of time and space to prepare your heart for the Holy Day of Christmas, where God shares the greatest gift of love in the birth of Jesus.
