With the Petroleum engineering background, Mr. Marsili worked in Eni and Enterprise Oil before joining Shell 16 years ago as Area Development Lead for Gannet cluster in UK North Sea. Mr. Marsili covered a number of Asset Commercial roles in UK and Italy. Mr. Marsili worked in NBD as Head of M&A in Shell Energy Europe and as Senior Business Development Manager responsible for the Iraq South Gas project.

More recently Mr. Marsili worked as the Venture Implementation Manager and Commercial Director for Basra Gas Company Joint Venture in Iraq.

Currently Mr. Marsili is a Vice President, New Business Development & Commercial, North America and Brazil, Shell.  Full bio is available here.

Saudi Aramco awards contract to Baker Hughes for Marjan oil field

Offshore-technology.com, September 5, 2018: Petroleum and natural gas company Saudi Aramco has awarded an integrated services contract for its Marjan oilfield to Baker Hughes, a GE company (BHGE).  The first of three major offshore expansions in Saudi Arabia, Marjan oilfield is Saudi Aramco's largest upstream development project this year.  According to the terms of the contract, BHGE will offer drilling services, coiled tubing services and drilling fluids engineering services in Marjan.  Read more...
Emerson Completes First Phase of Multimillion-Dollar Compressor Plant Investment

Achrnews.com,  September 5, 2018: Emerson today announced it has completed the first phase of upgrades to its plant in Rushville, Indiana, totaling nearly $8 million. The upgrades began in 2015 and have allowed the company to enhance its Copeland® compressor remanufacturing capabilities while strengthening its OEM manufacturing operations. Since 2013, Emerson has invested $13 million in the plant.  Read more...

Russia holds oil output at near post-Soviet high

Independent.ie, September 6, 2018: Russia kept pumping oil near post-Soviet records last month as it reaped benefits from a deal with Opec easing output caps and record-high oil prices in rubles.  The nation extracted an average of 11.21 million barrels of crude per day in August, according to data from the Russian Energy Ministry's CDU-TEK unit. Volumes were little changed from July, when the country's output soared to just shy of a peak in 2016.  Read more...
Record Russian budget revenues forecast from oil and gas sector

Offshore-technology.com, September 6, 2018: Russia is set to reap record revenues from the upstream oil and gas sector in ruble terms over the next six years. As the country's oil export duties are phased out over the 2019-2024 period by the so-called tax maneuver, Mineral Extraction Tax (MET) rates will increase to compensate. With prices having remained over $70/bbl in recent months, the combination of this tax change, production growth and a weakened ruble mean that government revenues from the oil and gas sector are forecast to exceed their 2014 peak in ruble terms. Russian coal exports rise to 17.2 mil mt in Aug, production also stronger

Spglobal.com, September 4, 2018: Russian coal exports in the month of August rose 1.5% from July to 17.2 million mt, an increase of 5.3% on the year, according to data released by the Russian Federation Ministry of Energy. The year-to-date volume came to 112.9 million mt, an increase of 3.9% from the year-ago period.  The share of thermal coal in the total volume was not disclosed for export or production. A European trader said maintenance at the port of Ust-Luga in the Baltic earlier in the summer was a potential reason for stronger exports in August.  Read more...
Russia meets grain traders, sees no need to limit exports

Reuters.com, September 3, 2018: Russia's Agriculture Ministry does not see a need to impose an export duty on grains or to curb grain exports in any other way, it said in a statement after a meeting with exporters on Monday.   "The (Russian) grain market is stable now," the ministry said in its statement. The ministry also said it did not see any factors which would lead to growth in the pace of Russia's exports or change the supply-demand balance significantly.  Read more...
Russia's Oct ESPO Blend crude exports seen rising 13% on month to 2.7 mil mt

Spglobal.com, September 5, 2018: Russia's exports of the medium sweet ESPO Blend crude in October are expected to total 2.7 million mt, up 12.5% from September, the latest monthly loading program showed.  ESPO Blend's October program runs from September 29 to November 1 and will comprise 27 cargoes of 100,000 mt each, according to the program.  In comparison, the September program, which runs from August 30 to October 1, comprises 24 cargoes of 100,000 mt each, or 2.4 million mt in total.  Read more...
Russia, Mongolia to strengthen trade, economic cooperation

Globaltimes.cn, September 5, 2018: Russian and Mongolian senior officials have discussed ways to enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, the Russian government said on Tuesday. Relevant topics were touched upon by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Gordeyev and his Mongolian counterpart Ulziisaikhan Enkhtuvshin during a working meeting in Moscow, according to a statement published on the Russian government's website. Russia interested in development of relations with Azerbaijan

Azernews.az, September 5, 2018: The signing of agreements between Russia and Azerbaijan will give an additional impetus to further development of relations between the two countries, trade representative of Russia in Azerbaijan Eldar Tlyabichev told Trend Sept. 4. Russia's company considers possibility of increasing joint oil production in Uzbekistan

Trend.az, September 2, 2018: Russia's Zarubezhneft JSC and Uzbekistan's Uzbekneftegaz JSC are considering the possibility of increasing hydrocarbon production at long-term deposits in Uzbekistan, Uzbekneftegaz said in a message. In particular, the possibility of increasing oil production at Uzbekistan's Khartum, Boston, South Alamyshik, Namangan, Tergachi and Shorbulak fields is being considered.  Read more...
New impetus given to tourism cooperation between Azerbaijan, Russia

Azernews.az, September 4, 2018: The signing of the agreement on cooperation in tourism between Azerbaijan and Russia will give an impetus to further rapprochement between the two countries in this area, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Tourism Association (AzTA) Nahid Bagirov told Trend on September 3. The chairman of AzTA noted that Russia is an interesting market for Azerbaijan in terms of tourism. "Russia has always been an attractive tourism market for Azerbaijan," Bagirov said.  Read more...
Russia to supply planned volume of oil to Uzbekistan by year-end

Azernews.az, September 3, 2018: Russia will export the planned volume of oil to Uzbekistan by the end of 2018 despite the problems associated with the throughput of the transportation system, said Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC Odil Temirov, Uzbek media outlets reported. "We have already imported 700,000 tons of oil and oil products. We adhere to the plan for the import of oil raw materials.
