CARVER VOICES - JULY 2020
FEEDING MORE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

Carver Center began distributing free breakfasts and lunches last week to all Port Chester School District children
ages 18 years and under at the Thomas A. Edison School.
This program will continue through August 31.
Our community partner, Caritas is supplying weekend meals for families on Fridays at the school.

On our first Friday, we distributed more than 500 breakfasts; 500 lunches and 500 weekend meals!

CARVER MARKET BY THE NUMBERS

In the month of June, the Carver Market distributed groceries, produce and meals from Caritas from the
Carver Center.
We served 1,609 households and fed approximately
6,014 individuals in those households.

Thank you Caritas of Port Chester and
Feeding Westchester for this important collaboration and to our Carver Market staff who are putting it all together
each week.

Fabiola Montoya, our Citizenship Coordinator has been conducting test preparation remotely during the pandemic while waiting for the courts to open.

Congratulations to Elizabeth Madriz for becoming our newest U.S. citizen.

Thomas A. Edison School.
Carver Center staff & Board of Directors send condolences to the family of John William Reavis, Jr., who passed away in June at the age of 84. As a past Executive Director of the Carver Center, John was instrumental with moving the Center to its currently location, the former YMCA building. John was a strong community voice and was beloved in the Port Chester area.
