Our Mission
PBS Health Services Academy High School is a free public charter school developed by Alliance College-Ready Public Schools and authorized by the Los Angeles Unified School District, which employs the theme of health care to provide rigorous college-preparatory instruction and application-based curriculum.

Our mission is to equip students in South Los Angeles with the tools necessary to excel in high school, to prepare them to enter and succeed in college, and to motivate them to select health care related majors and careers - areas in which minority students like those in the school community are grossly underrepresented.

11th Grader Carlos Lopez as the next App Developer

During summer break, Carlos Lopez had the opportunity to explore his innovative skills through a program called Teens Exploring Technology (TXT), which impelled him to create an App called "VidConnect." After presenting his app to various investors, he was then given a chance to meet several tech-marketing companies such as Google, Facebook, Eventbrite, and GitHub. The event began at USC and through TXT Carlos was able to travel to the Silicon Valley in Northern California.

Job Shadows

Floating Doctors Shadow Program
Our recent gradutes had the opportunity to travel to Panama over the summer, as participants in the Floating Doctors Program.

UCLA Doctor Shadow Program
Our newest cohort of 12th-grade students selected to participate in the revolutionary program began their journey with a 3-day long orientation at UCLA. Students had the opportunity to do many things including a meet with physicians they'll be working with over the next 9 months, tour the Westwood community, and learn some introductory techniques in the field of medicine. They were also joined by their families for the introductory dinner ceremony. The students will conduct their first day of shadowing on September 14th. Check out some of the pictures below!
