Court of Appeals Candidate Forum
The Appellate Practice Section will host a Candidate Forum for the eight candidates running for the New Mexico Court of Appeals this Nov. Save the date for 4-6 p.m., Oct. 18, at the State Bar Center in Albuquerque. Fall Speaker Series Opens with U.S. Attorney John Anderson

ABA Law Mental Health Day 
The ABA Law Student Division officially moved Law School Mental Health Day to Oct. 10. American University Washington College of Law will host a YouTube Live event featuring Laurie Besden, Pennsylvania Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers Executive Director, who is in recovery with an incredible story to share. The session will run live from 2-3 p.m. eastern time and then be available for replay. The YouTube link is http://auw.cl/tohellandback.
Volunteers Needed for Veterans Civil Legal Clinic
The YLD seeks volunteers to staff the final Veterans Civil Legal Clinic of 2018 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on Sept. 11, at the N.M. Veteran's Memorial located at 1100 Louisiana Blvd SE in Albuquerque. Volunteers should arrive at 8 a.m. for orientation and complimentary breakfast. The clinics offers veterans a broad range of veteran-specific and non-veteran specific legal services, including family law, consumer rights, worker's comp, bankruptcy, driver's license restoration, landlord/tenant, labor/employment and immigration. Albuquerque Bar Association Luncheon
The Albuquerque Bar Association is pleased to announce gubernatorial candidate Representative Steve Pearce. Pearce will be speaking at the ABA's monthly luncheon on Sept. 11, from noon-1 p.m. at the Hyatt in downtown Albuquerque. The lunch is $30 for members of the ABA and $40 for non-members. Albuquerque Lawyers' Club Announces the start of its 2018-2019 Season
Albuquerque Lawyers' Club announces the start of its 2018-19 season. Membership dues for the year are $250. Nine lunch meetings will be held at Seasons Restaurant on the first Wednesday of each month, at noon, Sept.-May. We also welcome attendance from non-members at a cost of $30 in advance, or $35 on the day of. The first meeting will be held Wed.
