November 2019 - Los Angeles Section 0700
PREPARING FOR SUCCESS
Jason is the Supplier Performance Manager for Navigation and Positioning Systems business unit for Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector, and is responsible for Woodland Hills CA and Salt Lake City UT facilities.

Throughout his career as supplier development engineer he has worked in several industries including Automotive(Caterpillar) and Aerospace(Honeywell) where he was instrumental in moving suppliers from a reaction based quality management focus to a preventive methodology by training and administering APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning).

Jason is a US Navy Submarine Veteran serving both Atlantic and Pacific fleets on board USS Helena (SSN-725) as Nuclear Electronics Technician and Reactor Operator. He is a distance runner, hunter, and Chicago Bears fan, and currently lives in the San Fernando Valley with his wife Karen.

Jason earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and holds an MBA from Northern Illinois University and MS International Management from Universite’ Montesquieu Bordeaux France. He is an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality and Certified Quality Engineer, and has been a member of the Los Angeles section for 3 years.

The intent of the final section meeting of 2019 is to introduce participants to one of the tools of APQP, the Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) by walking through a hands on exercise intended for all audiences. Through participation attendees can realize the benefits of APQP and how the tools may help their responsible organizations move towards reduced defect rates and improved customer satisfaction.
The November meeting will be the last time many of us will see each other in 2019. It will be a time to take count of a busy year well spent and plan ahead for good things to come in 2020.

The Section 0700 Leadership Team has planned a full agenda so please put time into your calendar to join us.

  • The evening will start out with a refresher presentation on a familiar Quality tool, the PFMEA by Jason Bender, CQE.

  • Then Section Chair, Ron Lombrano, will talk about the transformations at ASQ and what’s driving them

  •  Muriel Sasaki, Program Chair, will lead a discussion on implementing changes in ASQLA member meetings
