, when we have the great pleasure of presenting a virtual, Zoom reading of the ten winning plays from our third annual
Young Playwrights 10-Minute Play Contest (YPC)
. The contest was open to Palm Beach County students in grades 9-12, and the winners were chosen by a group of theatre professionals.
We were fortunate to have had the opportunity to showcase the plays at the theatre on March 4, shortly before we closed down. It’s a very special evening, as it gives teens the opportunity to write about subjects that are important to them and demonstrates how theatre can be a powerful means of expression in their lives. We’re delighted to have the chance to share this joyous event once more. As always, the plays will be read by professional actors.
Tickets are free, but reservations are required. The reading will be recorded and available on YouTube through Monday, July 20. We want to send a big thank you to our YPC sponsor, The Eric Friedheim Foundation. And we want to acknowledge the original sponsors of YPC, Macy’s and Kids’ Dreams.
