Polka On into 2019!

Coming in January: It's National Polka Month! Read a feature on the Polka King Frankie Yankovic and plan to attend the Polka Month dance on Jan. 26, sponsored by Texas Polka News. The Praha Brothers will provide the music at the historic Sefcik Hall in Seaton. Special guest performers are dance hall owner Alice Sulak and Jerry Haisler. Masters of Ceremony will be Alfred Vrazel and Danny Zapletal. The evening will raise funds for the International Polka Association. Gary McKee's column offers some musings on Texas polka history. Gary also provides an excellent article on Roy Clark who recently passed away. Justin Everett reviews the new Shiner Hobo CD and profiles polkajammer network DJ Billy Belina. Of course, we have your listing of dances, festivals, and live music events, including the Tony Booth Birthday Bash in Pearland and the Ennis Czech Music Festival, both in February. Visit texaspolkanews.com to see the latest issue.

WEEKLY LAUGH
Why do Dasher and Dancer love coffee?
Because they're Santa's star bucks!

Why did they couple get hitched on the 24th of December?
So they could have a married Christmas.

What would you call an elf who just has won the lottery?
Welfy.
