Highlights: Winter Storm Preparation, City Council Reorganization, Public Works Projects
Connect With Pacifica This Week
Greetings!

Happy Holidays! I wish each and every one of you a restful and safe holiday season. Winter storms are upon us, a time when Pacifica’s storm resilience is tested. City Public Works crews in Field Services and in Wastewater are busy with safety preparations, as well as being on call for any emergencies. Police and Fire are similarly prepared. You may notice a series of storage tanks assembled in the Linda Mar Beach parking lot; these serve as a temporary back-up storage system to prevent any sanitary sewer overflows in the event of a big storm, while the last stages of the Wet Weather Equalization Basin project are completed near the Community Center. In other news, the City Council Reorganization on December 17th was a great celebration honoring the service of Councilmember Sue Digre (16 years) and Mayor John Keener (4 years), and welcoming incoming new Councilmembers Sue Beckmeyer and Mary Bier, returning Councilmember Mike O’Neill, and electing Sue Vaterlaus as Mayor and Deirdre Martin as Mayor Pro Tem for 2019. Next year is looking to be an exciting, busy and productive one for the City, and I look forward to getting you involved and keeping you updated.

Please let me know if you have comments or questions, and  thank you  for wanting to  Connect with Pacifica !

Sincerely,
KEVIN WOODHOUSE
City Manager
