We had winds ranging from non-existent to light to blowing over 20 knots! It was a long one and another classic 300 Challenge.!
Congratulations to all racers who competed in this year's LO300 and 600 Challenges. And a special acknowledgement to all vessels who hung in there to finish this year's edition and to those who captured a flag. See all the results here: Race Results

A huge thank you to all our sponsors and supporters whose dedication to offshore racing helped enormously in the successful running of the 2018 Lake Ontario 300/600 Challenge. It couldn't have happened without you.

At the Skipper's meeting for the Lake Ontario 300 and 600 Challenges on Friday, July 13th, you heard the announcement that I am stepping down as Chair of the Lake Ontario Offshore Racing Committee after four  years at the helm. I've had a blast leading the amazing group of volunteers who put together the LO300/600, the Susan Hood Trophy Race and LOSHRS - the shorthanded racing series. Thank you to all of them - your generous time and energy has brought tremendous success to these events.

I am very excited and honoured to announce the incoming chair of the LOOR committee is Monica Doedens. Monica has been a member of the committee for nine years with a primary focus on Shoreline Logistics. Thank you, Monica for stepping up and embracing this opportunity with your usual enthusiasm and commitment. I look forward to seeing our offshore racing events continue to grow under your leadership.

Joe Doris
Past-Chair, Lake Ontario Offshore Racing

It is my pleasure and privilege to assume the helm from Joe as Chair of the LOOR committee. I look forward to continuing to work with all the volunteers and our incredible sponsors to bring quality offshore racing on Lake Ontario to the racing community. In particular, I want to share the exciting news that driveHG have committed to continuing as our Title Sponsor for the Susan Hood and LO300 for the next two years. Thank you, Humberview Group!

Although the 2018 running of the Susan Hood Trophy Race and the LO300 & 600 are in the books, we're not done yet! There are more LOSHRS events to come and this includes the hundred-nautical mile race for singlehanded and short-handed crews on August 18th. There is also the weekend series on September 15th and 16th to Port Dalhousie and back. Registration is still open for both these events. See Lake Ontario Short-Handed Racing Series

Looking even further ahead.....2019 will mark the 30th running of the Lake Ontario 300 Challenge! A very special occasion indeed and we're already planning on making next year's race a special event for all racers and participants. Stay tuned!

Congratulations to the winners of this year's Team Challenge sponsored by Sperry and Pat Sturgeon Yacht Sales:
Since the inception of the Lake Ontario 300 Challenge, portions of the race proceeds have been donated to Junior Learn to Sail as part of the Deed of Gift. The Team Challenge was created to provide an avenue to dispense funds to Junior programs at a wider range of clubs participating in the Challenge.
