Happy Holidays!
A Special Thank You to our parents and friends who attended Florida's Winter Wonderland - "Hats On To The Holidays!" Tuesday night was a huge success with much fun and great presentations from our students.
Winter Break
All OCPS campuses are closed from Dec. 24, 2018 to Jan. 4, 2019 for Winter Break.
January Principal's Party Winter Packets went home on Wednesday, December 19 and the students who return their packets to their teacher on Monday, January 7th, 2019 and score 80% or higher will attend the Principal's Party on Friday, January 11, 2019. In addition, a different incentive will be presented to students to score less than 80% and who show good effort. Tigers are Challenged to "Go Green" At Tangelo Park Elementary, we are encouraging students to Go Green! Going Green is our motto to promote On Grade Level Achievement of all students. Students who demonstrated On Grade Level Mastery or demonstrated improvement from the other performance color bands (Red - Needs Much Improvement, Yellow - Some Improvement Needed, Green - On Grade Level) will participate in the Principal's Celebration on Friday, January 11, 2019. ROAR Parent Night (Jan. 11) Our second ROAR Parent Night will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019. We will begin with a Meet & Greet at 5:30 p.m. There will be special guest speakers: Mr. Freddie Figgers and Mrs. Natlie Figgers from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Mr. Freddie Figgers is an owner of a telecommunications company and cellular phone manufacturer and Mrs. Natlie Figgers is a lawyer. Mr. and Mrs. Figgers will be spending a full day at Tangelo Park Elementary motivating and speaking to our students in grades 3-5 about their childhood experiences and recent success stories.

Meet Ms. Iton, 4th Grade
Q: How long have you been a teacher? How long at TPES?
A: I have been a teacher for 2 1/2 years with all of my experience here at TPES.
Q: Where did you graduate from college?
A: I'm an alumni of the University of North Florida and the University of Central Florida.
Q: What do you enjoy most about being an educator?
A: I enjoy being able to be an inspiration for our students both in and out of the classroom.
Q: What book is your favorite book?
A:
I love The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini! I think everyone should read it!
Q: Hobbies, interests?
A: I love food! Trying new restaurants and recipes. Cooking is an awesome way to express love. Also, I enjoy spending time with family and watching movies.

Chorus Performed at Rollins College

Tangelo Park's Joyful Noise Chorus leaving on the bus to perform at Rollins College
(Dec. 14th)
The Joyful Noise Chorus performed at the Bush Auditorium at Rollins College on December 14th for the Offices of Student Affairs. Rollins sent a charter bus to pick up our Tigers. After receiving a standing ovation, the Chorus was treated to lunch in the dining facility.
The Joyful Noise will also sing a song before the Orlando Magic game January 25th, which is our Tangelo Park Family Night Fundraiser! Tickets are a discounted at $15 and a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to our school. Join us as we support our Joyful Noise, our school, AND our Orlando Magic!
