Education for Sustainable Development
Camp Kawartha is proud of its part in establishing the Peterborough/Kawartha/Haliburton district as a UNESCO Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development www.rcekawarthas.com This prestigious designation is awarded to only three regions in all of Ontario and is the eighth in all of Canada.

Lieutenant Governor Visits the Environment Centre
The Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Elizabeth Dowdeswell recently visited the Camp Kawartha Environment Centre to meet with regional organizations and community members who were instrumental in securing UNESCO designation making the area a Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development . The Lt. Governor came specifically to the Centre to acknowledge the designation and highlight what it means to the region and Ontario. She heartily congratulated the many individuals and groups involved.

Pathway to Stewardship & Kinship Initiative
Camp Kawartha is pleased to announce Ontario Trillium Foundation funding for our unique “Pathway to Stewardship & Kinship Initiative” as part of a Collective Impact Grant. This ground breaking approach to environmental education encourages the whole community to work together in order to foster future stewards.

OUTDOOR EDUCATION
Camp Kawartha offers over 80 innovative curriculum-linked programs on the environment, science, history, outdoor recreation and the arts. For more information visit: campkawartha.ca/outdoor-education

Student Subsidies
From November to March , we would like to invite schools in genuine need of assistance to take advantage of our subsidy fund and come to the award-winning Camp Kawartha Outdoor Education Centre for a 2.5 day experience. 

Receive up to 50% off our regular rate for qualifying schools (a letter from the Principal is required expressing financial need, and some restrictions apply).

SUMMER CAMP
Honouring Cathy Romano
This summer we honored Cathy Romano, our Health Care Coordinator, for her continued dedication to Camp Kawartha. She has volunteered her time for nearly 20 years keeping us healthy and safe and we're endlessly grateful!!!

The health centre will now be known as the " Cathy Romano Health Centre ."

Registration for Summer Camp 2018 will open on November 1st. Sessions fill fast, so register early!
Kids Endowment Fund
We currently have two beautiful art pieces for sale thanks to the generosity of Ralph and Carol Ingleton . "Rocky Island Lake", by Ralph, is pen and ink on birchbark, and sells for $325. "The Reef", painted by Carol, is mixed media on canvas and is $350.

All proceeds support the Kids Endowment Fund set up by the Ingletons. If you are interested, please call the office at 705-652-3860.
